This week @mckenziesadventures launched STEM for Change: Beyond the Game with our middle school cohort at @brooklynyouth_org and these student athletes showed up with purpose.

🏀 @mckenziesadventures is officially kicking off Cohort 3 of @stem_for_change with our partners at @brooklynyouth_org : Nike Better Athlete Coalition Program!

This fall, our middle school student-athletes will explore how innovation, technology, and sustainability can help solve real challenges facing New York City communities while learning about the sustainability commitments of Nike and Foot Locker.

We’re looking for volunteer speakers from Nike and Foot Locker to inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

What happens when students spend 40 hours immersed in STEM, AI, design, and innovation?

Magic. ✨

At our @stem_for_change Intensive in Klawock, students used @adobeexpress to create digital portfolios, logos, presentations.

We organized our brainstorms, notes, and research and even app concepts using Book Creator from @kamiapp while building AI and digital fluency skills.

Thanks to our partners at Sealaska Heritage Institute @shinstitute and the Alaska Society for Technology in Education @aste_edtech , the journey isn’t over yet.

Because of @aste_edtech and @shinstitute, finalists are headed toward a live pitch opportunity at ASTE 2027 for the iDidaImpact Contest Awards!

Southeast Alaska’s next generation of innovators is ready. 💡🌎

🚀Weeks 5 & 6 Recap: STEM for Change: GATE Innovators Lab 🚀

Ever imagine what a @stem_for_change Exchange would look like? From California to Southeast Alaska, our young innovators proved that distance is no match for creativity!

Students from @thms_tigers connected with peers from across Southeast Alaska to share their app ideas, receive authentic feedback, and collaborate as future changemakers. Two of our innovators even showcased their apps live to students in Klawock, Alaska, answering questions and demonstrating how their solutions can make a real-world impact.

Along the way, students refined their prototypes, strengthened their communication skills, and prepared for Creative Pitch Day by learning how to craft compelling presentations that tell the story behind their innovations.

✅ Received real user feedback
✅ Practiced pitching their @adobeexpress slides like entrepreneurs

Today, three high school finalists from Kasaan & Juneau will step into the spotlight to pitch their apps to surprise guests at Creative Pitch Day Semi Finals presented by @mckenziesadventures in partnership with @shinstitute and @aste_edtech .

They’re not just competing for 1st place, they’re competing for a ticket to the FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND at ASTE 2027, Feb 13–15. 🏆
