FACT FRIDAY - The Woman Who Invented The Folding BedThe folding cabinet bed was invented by Sarah E. Goode, an American inventor and furniture store owner, who created a desk that folded out into a bed, allowing the user to save space in a tiny apartment. This predated the 20th century’s pull-down Murphy beds and pull-out sofas.Goode was born into slavery and won her freedom after the Civil War.
