It’s 11 p.m. and your brain is doing THIS, isn’t it? 😂🌙

11:04 — Practice the intro in the mirror. Nail it. Forget it in 4 seconds.
11:21 — Research ONE employer. Now you’re basically writing their biography.
11:38 — Try on the outfit. Change your mind 6 times. Wear the first one.
11:52 — Set 5 alarms. Trust none of them.

“I’m looking for any job.”

That’s the sentence that makes a recruiter forget you in about 10 seconds.

At a job fair, one recruiter can meet 100+ people in a single day. Generic gets forgotten. Specific gets remembered — and called back.

Here’s the 30-second formula I teach my clients:

1. Your name — said clearly, with a smile
2. The ONE role you want — not “anything”
3. One proof number — customers helped, years of experience, a result
4. Why THAT company — one real reason you picked their table

Put together, it sounds like this:

“Hi, I’m Alex. I’m looking for a customer service role. In my last job I helped 40+ customers a day and earned a 4.9 out of 5 rating. I’d love to join your team because you’re growing here in the GTA.”

And the closing move almost nobody does:

“Can I connect with you on LinkedIn so I can follow up tomorrow?”

Most candidates walk away and disappear. The one who follows up within 24 hours is the one who gets remembered when a role opens.
