Posting some behind-the-scenes bits today… tomorrow is the opening SOLD OUT premiere 🖤(and another one for the archives).
So excited to be sharing This Love Isn’t Taught at BFI Flare, 18th–29th March in London.
Not lost on me how it feels to be back here with another film I co-wrote screening… since Batty Boy @officialbattyboyfilm in 2019. God don’t sleep.
Can’t wait to watch it in a cinema with an audience and then again on Saturday.
Grateful to the whole team 🤍
@britishfilminstitute

Ashley Byam. 🔥

@ashleybyam is currently on stage in Dear England at New Wimbledon Theatre until 28 February, before heading to Liverpool Empire (3-7 March) and Birmingham Hippodrome (10-14 March) as part of the UK tour.

If it’s near you - go. It’s a big show, proper energy, and he’s killing it on that stage.

We had the pleasure of working with Ashley on This Love Isn’t Taught, where he moves completely differently - quieter, more internal, but just as present.

Catch him in This Love Isn’t Taught at our World Premiere at BFI Flare:

📍 Wednesday 25 March - 12:40 PM (NFT1)
📍 Saturday 28 March - 6:35 PM (NFT3)

Stage → Screen. Different gears, same intention.

This Love Isn’t Taught is having its WORLD PREMIERE at BFI Flare 2026.

We set out to make something intimate.
Something visually striking.
Something that sits in a moment between two people and lets it breathe.

I’m proud of the team who brought this to life - the performances, the cinematography, the sound. It’s a film built on collaboration and artistry.

If you’d like to see it with us, tickets are sold now on the BFI Flare website.

See you in March.
