Wilderness On Wheels is a unique one-of-a-kind accessible facility built for inclusion, with the belief that nature is for everyone.

For 40 years, they have been hosting accessible nature experiences for thousands of people and families. They are the oldest and largest operating accessible nature facility in the country.

They have two wheelchair accessible boardwalks, an accessible fishing dock, as well as accessible cabins, tent sites, and huts.

Along their mountain and creekside boardwalks, they have gazebos for picnic spots and benches to stop for a rest. Their 2-mile (roundtrip) mountain boardwalk rises to 9,300ft in elevation and allows everyone to experience the Colorado wilderness.

They also offer overnight stays in our accessible cabins, huts, and campsites. Spend a day hiking, fishing, and grilling.

Wilderness On Wheels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing nature access to individuals with disabilities, veterans, people experiencing chronic health issues, and anyone else needing an accessible nature experience.

Every year we’ve been attempting to do a National Park for my mom’s birthday week (I also got her to one for Mother’s Day this year! - Great Sand Dunes in CO)

This year we did Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon! We saw both the largest trees in the world (General Sherman and General Grant trees), as well as stayed in the historic Ahwahnee Lodge (their elevators were broken so I had to carry all 3 of our suitcases up 4 flights of stairs!

My mom and I also did a 2 mile round trip hike to Mirror Lake- which was entirely dried up when we got there. I couldn’t believe that no one told us that at any point lol apparently August is an extremely dry time to go to these parks (the rivers, lakes and waterfalls are mostly dried up!) so I’ll have to go back…

But we did make it to a Roaring Falls waterfall in Kings Canyon (such a long drive but we made it!) I could’ve stayed there forever. We saw El Cap/ Half Dome and so many 2,000 year old huge trees that gave me goosebumps.

Nature is incredible and worth protecting. Happy birthday Mom! Love you! 💙* also Proud of my 80 year old dad for doing as much hiking as he could- I hope I’m doing the same at 80. We found out Dolly died on my mom’s birthday as we headed out of the park. It’s important to know that Dolly was a dedicated advocate for nature and wildlife conservation, famously warning that mistreating the Earth is “like being ugly to your mama.”

She urged the country in interviews with National Geographic, to pay closer attention to climate change and human impact on natural habitats. So no- she would not have been a fan of what Trump has done to our National Parks, wild horses- and having the nerve to put his face on our Park Passes.

Thank you to @officialskylinechili for sending koozies and a Skyline giftcard for my bachelorette party! And to @aa_intheskywithdiamonds for reaching out to them!

I was so grateful to take my Colorado friends to the new (but Retro) Skyline in Covington - it was amazing! We loved our waitress Maddy! My friend @molekayhee drove a loooong way to join us on HIS bday! And my friend @dannisimon11 bought me the awesome shirt I’m wearing in a couple pics!

We did the Parent Trap on the water the night before and I got to show them the Cincy Skyline from Kentucky, we walked across the Roebling into Cincinnati (Ash is from NY so she really appreciated it being the predecessor to the Brooklyn Bridge). It was the perfect evening to kick off our Summer Camp themed weekend (watching the Sunset over the Parent Trap)

I added some more cute moments from the trip, including Jesse and I having a Titanic moment while I’m wearing my Heart of the Ocean necklace , that is now lost somewhere lol And our 90s Ring Pops!

The last day, right before the airport, my friend @micaycayy12 drove a super long way to come see me for an hour before we had to sprint off to the airport. It was a whirlwind trip and I’ll never forget it!

⛺️Camp Steph ⛺️ popped off last weekend! Had the best weekend every with my best friends in Kentucky. Round 2 will be posted soon!
