Architecture was Gordon Matta-Clark’s medium, so the construction of the Berlin Modern was the perfect background for his pieces.

Probably my favorite piece of his. In 1974 he literally split a house in New Jersey in half.

Office Baroque was his second to last piece before his untimely death. Inspired by overlapping teacup rings left on a drawing, he cut through a five story building in Antwerp.

I was lucky enough to see one of the cuttings, which feels surreal as none of his pieces still stand today.

Sculpture made out of voids ⚫️

Conical Intersect was his contribution to the 1975 Paris Biennale. As a critique of gentrification, he cut through adjacent buildings of the now Centre Pompidou.

In 1974 he climbed to the top of the Clocktower for his piece Clockshower and proceeded to shower

I had been dreaming of visiting the Ear of Dionysus in Syracuse for quite some time. A limestone, ear shaped cave with remarkable acoustics, named by Caravaggio.

Last year, I finally got to experience it, and later on the trip, somewhere by the sea in Sicily, I found this perfectly ear-shaped rock. You cannot convince me it was not there waiting just for me. taken in Charlottenburg by @stepha_sr
