Stephan unterrichtet ein Training, das sich an sehr fortgeschrittene Laien sowie professionelle Tänzer*innen richtet. Es beginnt mit einem klar strukturierten, modernen/zeitgenössischen Warm-up, das technische Akzente setzt und den Körper gezielt auf das weitere Arbeiten vorbereitet.
Im Anschluss entsteht viel Raum für umfangreiche Bewegungsequenzen, die den Fokus auf Dynamik, verschiedene Bewegungsqualitäten, Musikalität und Raumwahrnehmung legen. Stephans Unterricht verbindet klar definierte Bewegungsführung und körperschonende Technik mit persönlicher Interpretation und Individualität.

2026 markes 20 years since my first full production "the sanctuary project".
To celebrate this aniversary I invited 6 former dancers to revisit previous works and tasks of mine in order to create a new durational work with 11 dancers, which will be performed for 4 hours a day on the 18th, 19th and 20th of september this year at schwere reiter.

Those last 2 weeks of this laboratory was a great joy, walking down some memory lanes, figuring out how bodies remember and making a selection of material that can be reimagined in another context.

OPENING GROUNDS

today the journey of my residency with @austinmcquinn at @tipperarydance is coming to an end.

It was a beautiful journey of researching, exchanging, exploring with lots of talking, sketching, painting & dancing.

Diving into the artistic worlds of another artist is such a great gift and I am so very thankful for @austinmcquinn to open up his world so generously. Thank you for that!

And thank you to @tipperarydance and @tanztendenz_muenchen for making this possible! It means a lot! by @stephan_herwig

Five sold out shows & so much beautiful feedback. Thanks again for all the people involved in making this possible and everyone coming to watch the show
It was a great journey and I enjoyed every second of it!
