On the drive to work/school Langston damn near had a melt down because he wanted me to go back to this song. I skip the songs with cussing but he was aggressively pointing to go back with tears in his eyes so I had to oblige for my baby boy. @bekahthinks I just want to say thank you to this amazing and incredible human for such a thoughtful and deeply personal birthday gift. A painting and poetry two things I absolutely adore 🥰 every word has so much meaning for our friendship and the way I feel seen by you best! As you know I boohoo-ed my eyes out and then I saw the lotus painting and lost it again. So much meaning for my life in that flower! Happy 45 years on this earth to me!!! Wow I was just a shy little Haitian girl not too long ago. This birthday was a tough one my body feels the collective suffering that we are enduring under this dumpster fire of a presidency… but one thing about Black people we are going to find the joy. So thank you to all the amazing people in my life that carried me this birthday and filled me up and over flowing with their joy and their love and their presence. I am a well loved woman. My favorite flower is a rose and I got dozens of them today such a beautiful and loving gesture and then I got a cozy blanket in my fave color, loving words, poems , cards and a beautiful and sentimental e-card from my bestie from the west coast.
