Curiosity was never my problem.

Growing up, wanting to explore different sports, different passions, different experiences was treated like defiance.

It wasn’t. It was just who I was.

The problem was being raised in an environment where your role was decided before you were old enough to choose one.

You learn to edit yourself. You become the version of you that keeps everyone comfortable.

Until one day you realize you’ve been performing a role that was never actually yours.

That’s when the real work begins.

There’s a version of discipline that comes from passion.

And a version that comes from survival.

For a long time I didn’t know the difference. I just knew how to show up because not showing up was never an option in the house I grew up in.

It took years to unlearn the version of discipline that was built on survival.

And even longer to build one that was actually mine.

Once I stepped outside those walls, the “pick one thing” walls, the “stay small” walls, everything changed.

Possibility opened. Identity expanded. Life felt like mine for the first time.

The boxes other people put you in are only permanent if you agree to stay in them.

I grew up in a traditional Greek household where my role was assigned before I knew I was allowed to choose one.

These doors are at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. Standing in front of them felt like a reminder — the life you were handed is not the only one available to you.

Some places stop you completely.

This is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi — one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever stood.

There’s something about being inside a space this vast and this intentional that puts everything in perspective.

The world is so much bigger than the version of it we were raised inside.

That’s worth remembering.

I didn’t grow up believing this was possible for me.

I grew up in a Greek household where there was a very specific script for your life. A role. A lane. A version of yourself that would keep everyone comfortable.

Nobody in that script was standing at the top of a building in Dubai watching the sun set over the Palm.

Everything I have, I built. Outside every box I was ever handed.

This year brought a lot of change, career shifts, friendships evolving, decisions that stretched me.
What never got lost? My focus. My mental toughness. My belief that what I want is worth going after.
Dreams don’t happen by luck. At least not for me. They happen by getting clear on the path, taking the right steps, and learning from people who’ve already been where you want to go. I keep most of my life private because protecting my focus matters. I share pieces of it for one reason, to remind you that your dreams are yours to build.

Adjust when you need to. Do more of what your heart is calling for. And let the naysayers be background noise.

The ability to travel 5 weeks straight continues to remind me to ignore all the people who said to work for a “company” and not for yourself, clearly don’t know my love for my own time. My discipline. My faith that things will work. Because of who I am and how damn hard I have put in the energy and effort.
