A few days in Finnish Lapland to see nature transform before our eyes and slowly put on its winter colours.

Before I transfer all the photos to the computer, here are my first impressions of this trip to northern Finland🇫🇮🍂. Magnificent colours, not much in the way of monochrome, the snow didn’t do us the favour of making a brief appearance. Wind, a bit of rain, lots of reindeer, one sunrise, two sunsets, birds, tranquillity, and nature as far as the eye can see. Even though the temperatures were a bit too warm for the season and the sky was often cloudy, we come back with our heads full of images and are already dreaming of our next visit.
No videos of the northern lights, even though they did make an appearance on the last evening. Just a little patience 😉– they’re in the camera.

Autumn light and colours in Stockholm two years ago.
A few photos taken during a wonderful trip to mark a very special occasion@✨🤗

Autumn has well and truly arrived. The days are getting shorter and the sun is becoming more shy.

The perfect time to revisit the photos taken in the Lofoten Islands two years ago. Everything was filled with light, the light of day, but also the evening light, before, during and after sunset.

Some of the light we came across this summer, during the day or in the evening, when the sun slowly sinks into the sky and the days seem to never really end. ☀️

Mostly in Sweden, on our way back home, but also a few moments captured throughout our journey: in Germany, on the ferry to Denmark, in Finland, and then back to Sweden…
and the last photos taken on the ferry bringing us back to Germany.

When the landscapes of northern Finland are covered in snow, it feels like a waking dream to me.
And while this season, when everything turns white remains my favorite, Finnish Lapland in the summertime has something of its own that makes you never want to leave.
The light, the animals, the endless wilderness, the sunsets stretching into hours when we would already be asleep back home… Here, night never really falls in summer. And so, little by little, we lose track of time, simply living in the present moment, while hoping that the future will be a little gentler than the one unfolding before us.

📍Särkitunturi, levitunturi and Santa‘s cabin by @stephanie_klmn

A short walk through the Finnish countryside 🇫🇮. We’d been here before when it was starting to get colder, with frost and snow. We wanted to see this magnificent 360-degree view in the sunshine whilst the leaves were still on the trees. And we were treated to two rainbows as a bonus. What more could we ask for? 😊

A few moments from our time in Sweden this summer 🇸🇪
Birds, light and shadows, rainbows, rain, ferries, sunshine… and plenty of calm.
We travelled through Sweden from the south all the way to Stockholm, taking our time to enjoy the landscapes and all those little moments that make a nordic journey so special.
Then, after a week in Finland, we found ourselves back in Sweden, north of the Baltic Sea for a few more days of nature, travel and beautiful light.

Another view of this magnificent little lake, which perfectly captures the atmosphere of the moment in the Swedish mountains 🇸🇪☀️
