ILM Legends- John Goodson & Kim Smith

Seeing John again was a true joy. Such an incredibly artist and a phenomenal storyteller!! He has spent over three decades painting and building the most iconic pieces of cinema history.

Meeting Kim was just unforgettable!! A trailblazer who shattered barriers in Hollywoods model shops, and poured her heart into sculpting and painting film history for more than thirty years. She is now fully dedicated to her independent fine art- Kim Smith Studio.🫟🖌️

Its impossible not to stand in awe of their physical artistry. Their collective mastery of form, weathering, and detail gives these models a tangible soul that digital pixels can never quite replicate. I can’t wait to see their pieces in person at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art!!✨🎬🎨 Films would never be the same without the incredible behind the scenes artists and crews who work tirelessly in the shadows to create the magic we see on the big screen!! 🪄

It was an absolute highlight meeting James. He is an incredible actor who is just as gracious in person as he is talented onscreen. He expresses such genuine enthusiasm for his work and his peers.

“The darkness is the past. And you hold onto it. You dwell. You punish yourself and everyone around you for past mistakes.”- Brainiac 5

I still remember seeing this on opening night at the IMAX theater in West Nyack, NY!!

One of my favorite quotes that Brandon wrote out for me- 🫶🏻😉

“You will be different, sometimes you’ll feel like an outcast, but you’ll never be alone. You will make my strength your own. You will see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father and the father becomes the son.”
