And, I always come prepared with a new poem.

Being an angel is a full time job.

This poem was inspired by the chorus-like myth poems of @two.bees.poetry (especially their Penelope & Odysseus pieces), so I wanted to throw my own hat into the ring for my Persephone-coded collection.

Persephone & Hades is written as a diptych: two poems facing each other, able to stand alone or be read together as one larger devotion. A call and response alongside a descent and a vow. Printed, it becomes a hinge, like a poem that opens.

I love the way mythology allows us to write about choice, hunger, and return all at once. About how love can look like exile and still feel like home.

This one lives in shadow and fruit and footsteps echoing toward each other.
