Last week, I had the honor of being sworn in as the next Vice President of the Student Government Association.

Looking back to September, when I was first approached by then Chief of Staff LaDerrick Milton to run as his Vice President, I knew saying yes came with great responsibility, but also the opportunity to grow into the leader I’ve always hoped to become.

Our campaign, PULSE, was transformative. That entire week taught me so much about myself, about this campus, and about the kind of leadership our students deserve. Thank you to every person who believed in our mission, and to the elected senators who tabled with us, supported us, and stood behind our vision for a stronger more connected student body.

To every student who saw the work we could do thank you. We promise we won’t disappoint you.

A special thank you to LaDerrick Milton, who trusted me to run beside him for a school of over 20,000 students. Your leadership and belief in me mean more than you know. Thank you to @c_jaylen4 for your previous leadership and for always supporting not only me, but the entire General Assembly.

And finally, to the student body… Thank you for entrusting me with this role. I promise to serve you, advocate for you, and amplify your student experience every single day. The work begins now.

GO TIGERS GO,
Stephanie Monisit 💙🐅

Honored to be named one of the University of Memphis’ 20 Under 30.

On a campus of over twenty thousand students, each with their own story and their own impact, being recognized like this means a lot to me. This award reflects the people who’ve poured into me, the communities I care about, and the stories I hope to uplift.

Thank you, Memphis, for seeing me. GTG! 💙🐯 taken in University of Memphis by @stephaniemonisitt

Why Phi Mu? 💗

Because two years ago, I walked into Philanthropy Round and an older member told me she could see me as Philanthropy Chair… and now I’m living that full‑circle moment.

Our philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, has always been my biggest “why.” Getting to support CMNH and volunteer at Le Bonheur is the reason I joined and one of the biggest reasons I stay.

So grateful for the sisters who became my second family and for an exec team that already feels so special. I’m so honored and so excited to serve as Phi Mu’s Philanthropy Chair. LIOB!! taken in Phi Mu Castle by @stephaniemonisitt

Had the opportunity to represent the University of Memphis at the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) in the House of Representatives this past week.

So grateful for the experience and even more thankful for the incredible people I met along the way. See you next year! taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @stephaniemonisitt
