One of the hardest things about getting older is realizing that making the right choice doesn’t always feel good.

Sometimes it’s a painful closing of a door and rejecting a version of your life you genuinely loved. A city. A career. A relationship.

I know I made the right decision, but I still cry about the life I didn’t choose.

I wrote the full story (finally) and it’s probably the most personal thing I’ve shared so far. The grief of this story plagued me for months, and for a while I felt lost. It’s a big reason why I started Steph Can Relate.

Becoming a people manager for the first time is exciting but it also can be scary and… weird.
