Surely the most spectacular of all herons. This is an Agami Heron in breeding plumage at Agami Island Nature Reserve in Costa Rica. It is a privately owned and managed rookery which the owner dedicated to conservation and responsible birding when he discovered its function as a rookery for this incredible species.
