300-350 students at Mt. Si High School in North Bend, Washington, walked in protest of this administration's destructive and hateful policies and actions.

Peaceful, orderly, but defiant.

Were I a Republican seeing 350 voters marching like this I'd be super nervous.

Trump must go.

ICE must be destroyed.

Every member of this administration who participates in the destruction of people and our Constitution must be prosecuted and held accountable for their actions. by @stephenmatlock

MAKING IT PLAIN by @druhart

Growing up as a putative 'Christian' and spending all my adult life as one, I had been pushed to believe that my central purpose in life was to 'share the good news' which meant get people to listen to the 'Gospel' and then get them to say the 'sinners prayer'.

It is a shock to realize that this is not at all the priority for the follower of Jesus. Instead, the central purpose is to do what Jesus did to the people caught in webs of oppression and poverty and want to bring them wholeness.

This book is not one to give unworkable advice and also does not say 'do these two or three things.' Rather, it gives us the structure and understanding to go _do_ the work of Jesus. And for that reason, this is a book worth reading and thinking about.

For 2000 or so years now, there's been a thread of the Christian faith that has insisted that it's about what you do that resembles what Jesus did that shows your faith.

The first people called 'Christians' were identified as such by what they did, not by the points of their faith that they believed.

Yet most of the history of Western Christianity has been about power and control and domination.

This book, MAKING IT PLAIN by @druhart, is a corrective to the current ways of thinking and doing.

There are many kinds of Christianity in time and location, and we are neither unique nor necessarily more advanced or more pure in our ways of thinking about our faith, much less in our ways of practicing our faith.

MAKING IT PLAIN by @druhart is essentially a primer on how to think about your faith as a way of doing things and as a philosophy of why you do them. What are your goals? What are your intentions? What would it look like for you when you are a follower of Jesus of Nazareth?

I'm warning you that this is not going to be a treatise on cloud-based theologies of belief. This is a book to challenge you to get your shoes on and get out the door.
