Found this clip a couple of days ago, and it's been a minute since I played any of those works, so I'm going to change that. Was cleaning out some videos that take up gb's of space, and found this one from a coupe of years ago - A great composition by Aaron Burnett called "Riding through NY traffic with 2 gluten-free PopTarts" and man it was fun to play! Found this clip from 10 years ago, my first tour playing Rhodes/Piano/Keyboards with The Headhunters, and I think The North Sea Jazz Festival was the third hit together on that 18-19 day tour through damn near all of Europe and the Middle East! Man, this rhythm section with Mike Clark and Reggie Washington @reggwashbass was so effortless, and as groovin as it was, it was pure water and fire together! Bill Summers held it down on percussion as he had been doing for nearly 40 years at that point, and the band chemistry was on fire! That was Pat Clahar on tenor/soprano saxophones for this clip and some of that tour, Donald Harrison picked up in Paris for 3 days and then I believe Rennes and Vennes! Good times, spent 2 years in that band and was always thankful to have played with those gentleman! by @stephenrgordon

On Monday, March 18th, 2024, my Grandmother, Dorothy McBride Gordon, or “Momma Dot” as she was lovingly considered by all, was called home to Glory.Today, we had visitation and viewing for family and community in Cheraw, SC, and on behalf of my Father and family, to all who took their time to drive all the way from places near and far to share love and warmth, we express the deepest gratitude possible to you, and the greatest of thanks.The celebration of her life will take place tomorrow at 3pm at Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church in Chesterfield, SC where she lived all of her 92 years, and was a faithful member so many years of her life, as well as my Grandfather, Robert Gordon Sr. Or “Poppa Robert” who went on long before, whom we believe she will be reunited with in light once again.Thank you for all of your calls, texts and emails at this time. We are doing well, and we celebrate her life, her message, her everyday strength, wisdom, care and the engraved love that she imprinted on our hearts and minds from a very early age, love that has carried us through adulthood and will forever enrich our lives, that we may share it with others. Her last words to me were “Never forget where you come from”… I never will, Momma Dot. This little light of yours, it’s still shining bright. by @stephenrgordon
