I had an incredible time speaking with the students of the University of Cape Coast at the Start Right Conference about balancing academics and personal life.

It was equally enriching to learn from the professors and experts present, especially on topics like discipline, artificial intelligence, time management, and relationship management.

🚨 Breaking: Stephenie Oben Crowned Miss Africa International 2025 👑

Stephanie Oben (@stephanie.oben), who proudly represented Cameroon at the recently concluded Miss Africa International Pageant, has been crowned Miss Africa International 2025.

Her vision extends beyond mere beauty; it encompasses empowerment, sustainability, and unity. She aims to initiate programs that emphasize education and entrepreneurship, particularly for young women, to provide them with the skills and confidence necessary to chase their aspirations. Stephanie believes that by nurturing talent and encouraging innovation, Africa can reach new heights and inspire future generations.

As my reign as Miss Africa International 2025/26 ends on 1 November 1st, here are 10 things this year taught me - Extra Honest Edition

This journey took me to over 6 African countries, business conferences including the Africa CEO Forum, fashion shows and many other opportunities. Some moments were glamorous, others were humbling, and all of them taught me something.

Thank you to the @missafricainternational organisation for pushing me to stop hiding and start sharing. And to everyone who supported me along the way ❤️

My story doesn’t stop here, infact this is just the beginning.

REIGNING MISS AFRICA INTERNATIONAL

Just before she passes on her crown to the next African Queen, let me take time to celebrate this woman, STEPHANIE OBEN of CAMEROON

I had not followed the pageant closely till last year and from the start of the competition till she was crowned, she showed up in every single way and proved while she deserved the crown. Interestingly, she’s shown even more post coronation.

She has carried her title with so much pride, engaging in projects, activities and attending seminars that promote the African culture both within and beyond the shores of Africa.

She’s that woman and her successor would definitely be stepping into big shoes.

Not everyone can become a scientist. Someone has to hold it down in pageantry.

As I continue to attend events and enter rooms I didn’t have the courage to enter before, I’ve been reflecting on what being Miss Africa International, a platform that promotes entrepreneurship among African women, has meant to me.

People often argue that beauty pageants don’t empower women. But what is more empowering than giving women a platform, the freedom to decide who they want to be, and the confidence to grow in their respective fields?
