American, Canadian, French, German, and certainly one fabulous Aussie…here’s to all the girls I’ve met through the @rebellerally! It’s been the experience of a lifetime to train and compete with you all! And watching you all get ready to rally again has given me a severe case of FOMO 👀.

Wishing all of the ‘26 Rebelles the best as you all roll out of tech inspection and into the rally! I can’t wait to see what the course brings your way this year and how you conquer it in your own style. Now, lock those phones up and get after it!! by @stephkowall

We polled Rebelles to find out: What does being a Rebelle mean to you? From the mental game to the dirt under their fingernails, here is how our competitors define the spirit of the rally:

🤝 “Being a Rebelle reminds me I am more capable than I give myself credit for and that I can do (really) hard things; both as an individual and as a teammate.” — Shelby Hall

🔄 “It means I can do something that is totally out of my regular routine. It challenges me every year.” — Karen Hoehn

🛡️ “Being a Rebelle feels like a badge of confidence and toughness to take on a multitude of life’s challenges and know that I have the skills and mental fortitude to succeed.” — Ashley Bear

💪 “It means I can do hard things. It proves to me that I can handle anything that comes my way.” — Adriana Stovall

⚖️ “Facing your biggest competitor—yourself—and kindly learning to work through your weaknesses by using your strengths.” — Nena Barlow

✨ “It means feeling like nothing is impossible. It means feeling brave. It means being determined but flexible. It means believing in myself, and being open to learn from others.” — Stephanie Kowall

🛠️ “Being a Rebelle means if I don’t know how to do something I’m going to keep trying until I figure it out.” — Alana Trejo

🗺️ “It was a fun adventure, and I’m so happy I had the ability to do it. Once in a lifetime opportunity.” — Lisa Mahr

🏔️ “Being a Rebelle to me means not being afraid to do hard things and put in the work. It means trusting in yourself and never giving up. It means being a part of the most supportive, ambitious, brilliant group of women.”— Becky Brophy

⚡ “Choosing to do tough things.” — Pam Wright

The rally lives in the kilometers between the checkpoints. Welcome to the Rebelle.

Happy International Women’s Day 💐

The dunes aren’t just a stage of the Rebelle Rally. They’re part of its DNA.

From a distance, they look beautiful. Up close, they demand everything: awareness, patience, and skill.

Driving dunes takes long-distance eye reading and fast thinking. Sand is constantly changing. Entrance. Exit. Throttle. Gear. RPM. Tire pressure. Know your vehicle. Even the time of day matters.

The dunes will push back again and again. That challenge is exactly why they’ve been part of the Rebelle since the beginning.

It’s also the mindset competitors carry with them: you can’t let the dunes win. Even in the toughest moments, there’s always a way through.

Some days, you’re the shovel. Some days, you’re the sand.
As suspected, Team 118 spent a good part of yesterday buried deep in the dunes — a full tow required to get moving again. Today marks the final day of the Rebelle Rally, and it’s probably safe to say they’re ready for the finish line. by @stephkowall

Word on the trail is there were a few more mechanical gremlins yesterday, forcing Team 118 to take it a bit easier. We’re not sure if Avis is throwing her hands up in joy or frustration this time — but either way, they’re still out there, pushing forward and chasing checkpoints. 💪

After a day of car troubles, we’re back! 🔧

Kendra the Defenda is back in action, spirits are high, and we’re rolling again across the desert.

Sometimes the desert has other plans.

After getting stuck deep in the course with a failed wheel speed sensor that disabled our 4WD, we had to leave the trail early — but good news was waiting back at base camp. Huge thanks to Team 155 — Jenna and Liza (@overland_her) for coming through with a spare part to get us back in the game. This rally is as much about teamwork as it is about terrain. 🙏

Meanwhile, Rob (Avis’ husband) got in touch with the a rally mechanics had one overnighted from another state, and I was back home checking with dealerships in LA. Chartering a helicopter or buying another Defender for parts was also a consideration. 😂

One TerraTrip down but we ain’t dead yet. A little mud, a little chaos, and a lot of teamwork on Day 1 of the @rebellerally 2025.

Day 1: The adventure begins (with a twist). 🏁

Nothing like the Rebelle to test both skill and spirit right out of the gate — our Terra Trip odometer called it quits on Day 1. Huge thanks to Team 172 — Peg and Char for saving the day and lending us their spare! 🙌

After a windy night and a muddy morning, we still powered through and finished the day in 36th place. The rally’s just getting started — and so are we.
