The fourth in the series for my mother. Spent 5 hours start to finish in one sitting on this one.

Third in the series for my mother. A capture from her at her wedding, her brother walking her down the aisle. One of my favorite photos of her ❤️

I suppose I’ll start these now.

My mother, one of my favorite people, passed 5 months ago. It opened the door to an obsession with legacy. Portrait Artist can be a powerful title, and while my mother is gone now, I can still make her live forever. I intend, with all the skills I’ll ever accumulate, to make sure she’s never forgotten. The first (finished) of many. I love you mom.

It’s been months since I finished this. I poured my soul into this piece and it’s been the most healing one I’ve ever made. Tearing through it like the words I heard did me, sewing it up as I tried to do to myself, and letting the stories and names flow onto the canvas. I have been kept as a body for secrets, and no more.

The most recent, and my favorite, of my small portrait pieces. Getting better and better with men, and considering adding pink to my favorites in my monochrome color palette.

all i saw was you.

The first monochrome that started my streak! Ever since finishing her I’ve been so excited about these smaller portraits. She’s for sale too 💞
