Happy Stoma Awareness day! 2026

I got my stoma in February 2023. Before that i was fighting for my life silently! In the second picture i had been so poorly, during the whole night i had been throwing up, doubled in agony, sobbing wondering when it will all stop but i still showed up because life needed to carry on.

The picture after that was New year 2022 into 23 unbeknownst to me i was going to get a call a month a bit later to say im having the op but in this moment i wasnt fully enjoying myself because i couldn’t eat properly and i was crying daily!

Fast forward to February 2023 when everything changed! I wasn’t worried about what i potentially couldn’t be able to do but i was focused on getting out of the misery i was in because for the couple of years before this my bowel was slowly giving up on me causing me to lose my appetite, to fall out of love with food, to be in agony, to be sick and to mess myself in public and infront of friends multiple times making me not want to leave the house ever again. I was coming close to an eating disorder because i was having to micro manage every bit of food item that was going in, unsure of the reaction i would have so it was sometimes easier to just not eat.

The operation process was both incredible and difficult, incredible because i felt like a totally different person immediately and i felt like a whole relief lifted off my shoulders but difficult because i became very poorly with tonsillitis, UTI and then covid with a small infection in the wound. But i got there, i was taught how to change my stoma who i christened Peaches 🍑

So i want to now abolish some myths and worries people may have..

1. You can wear that outfit you love
2. You can be sexy AND feel sexy
3. You can proudly show your scars off
4. You can dress your stoma bag up and even get it a little wardrobe haha
5. You can enjoy food and try new things
6. You can wear that Bikini/swimsuit and swim

AUGUST PHOTO DUMP PART ONE 💖

Wow… August was the month of everything so needs to be a 2 parter 🙈

In this lot the month started with Woof! A dog’s tail the musical to which i starred in my very first musical to a sold out audience at @storyhouselive which was incredible! I played Mama (the leads Sammy’s mum) and also one of the Rottweiler’s!

Then onto Deva Fest! My favourite day of the year! Lots of giggles, fun, screaming, dizzy heads and Ronan Keating! As always its like being in Grease the musical🙈 with all my favs (some missing) and then Deva Fest day 2 with my hubby @alansr20 to make more memories on rides and then watch and meet Jessie J 🥹🥰

JULY PHOTO DUMP 💖

Yes yes i know! Its almost September but i’ve barely had time to sit down and do things for funsies haha

July was one of THE BEST months i have shortly followed by this month! It started with a last minute trip to see Rocky horror with the husband @alansr20 swiftly followed by our Gay Muppets on tour holiday! 3 days of absolute bliss and mayhem! Sightseeing, fun, memories and games! And for a few hours we seemed to have lost @josh_suffield but we did gain a Fraudia Winklefringe and i deceived all my besties (sorry) and won the jackpot with my fellow traitors Sean and Irfan hehehe!
And the names we came up almost had me throwing up with laughter!
I swam in the sea (well actually Josh and myself kinda screamed mostly) but it was incredible. We went into a sauna and got all hot and steamy and just made the best memories!

Then straight into Disability Pride Catwalk to which was amazing! Honoured to strut my stuff down the catwalk with the gorgeous @feyas_world as Host and Coach and was honoured to wear the beautiful adaptive clothing from both @maymarigolduk (@maydoes_ ) and @intotum_fashion (@hanan_tantush ) and thanks so much to @stephencainphotography for capturing the moment!

Saw Moulin Rouge twice, once with Nora and again with Jo and Dawn and absolutely was OBSESSED

Heartstopper premier with my gorgeous fiancee @jess_with_the_glasses and bestie @kathrynwrites (so emosh)

Congleton pride starting off our Pride celebrations!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💖

Next was Liverpool Pride and my god! I cannot begin to explain my excitement in seeing one of my all time female pop groups! Sugababes 🥹🥹🥹🥹😭 and to make the memories with this lot too! @james.a.morgan , @janw.schaefer , @sparkle1978 , @georginakwest , @neilnezkendall , @rowiseman , @josh_suffield

Then i saw a bucket list show Sweeney Todd at Birmingham Rep and got to meet one of my favourite theatre performers and singers @raminkarimloo 😍😭

The month ended with eating a scrummy Chinese with @michelleirving11 whilst working on her book 💖

JESSIE J TOUCHED MY HAND 😭😭😭😭 what an incredible night shared with my bestie @alansr20 …. They always put the wheelchair platform so far away from the stage and i wanted to be at the front and see one of my idols and favourite artists up close! … i have never been at the front, its too dangerous and scary but i was stubborn and adamant! My chair angled behind me, Alan behind my chair and some kind adults either side i was safe and it meant i got to meet Jessie and watch the powerhouse she is up close! Memories to treasure forever 😭❤️🥹

Wow wow wow WOW!!!! Had time to process yesterday now! For 10 weeks the Woof team have been putting their hearts and souls into bringing this story alive, an original musical written by the wonderful Matthew Harry Dodd … i remember having a conversation with Matthew in January 2025 about this musical and a song he’d like me to sing… fast forward a year and 7 months and we completed our first show to a sold out audience at Storyhouse 🥹 baring in mind a chunk of our cast have never acted or its been a while since they have you would never have known as the audience roared with applause and cheers! Behind the scenes the blood sweat and tears of getting it all ready. We did everything ourselves from Props (thank you so much to Neil ‘Nez’ for the tree props) and set to costume and music, photography and social media! I could not be prouder of everyone involved! And a massive shout out to Sean for being the incredibly talents Tail and Ears maker! You really brought our characters to life!

And for myself… you did it little Steph! You were told all those years ago that you couldn’t be on stage because you looked weird and out of place so you were hidden, you watched your family in musicals and you cheered them on with such pride but that part of you that dreamed of doing the same thing! My disability didn’t matter last night! I was Mama and also a Rottweiler 🙈 and i loved every second of being Mama especially to my “big, bright, beautiful boy” Sammy aka Irfan 🥹 and i got to share the stage with my best friends and make so many memories!

To my woof family… Josh, Mike, David, Andrew, Irfan, Jessica, Alex, Peter, Thomas (and Emily) Doddy, and Liv.. i love you all so much! I have loved making so many memories over the past 10 odd weeks and creating those stronger bonds! And excited to create more memories to come!

Woof is performing at Live next week and then who knows where it shall take us! 🐶❤️

Hello everyone!!!

After months of absolute agony i have given in and asked for a quote from RGK wheelchairs for a wheelchair that actually fits me to my measurements because my last chair and my current where/are ex-demo sale chairs. However the price is eye wateringly just over £7000 😭 so i cannot fund this myself. I am looking into grants to cover costs but this of course takes time and energy and it can be a long time until the grants are accepted, approved and given so i have started up a GoFundMe to get me started! If anyone at all can help whether thats donating or sharing! I would be forever grateful!

MAY PHOTO DUMP!

What an incredible month! Ignoring health and focusing on the positives! Its been filled with fun, laughter, love and first times! Starting the month with a group Devil wears prada cinema trip! Obsessed!
To finally seeing Operation Mincemeat on stage 🥹 and meeting the phenomenally talented cast!

To absolute chaos with my besties and then winning my award 🎉
Seeing sunny afternoon with Jess and having our first Woof rehearsal 😍🐶

Then it was the gig of the year! Proud Marys in Manchester! As the guests of Manchester Proud Chorus! We sang and we performed in scorching temperatures but we survived and i for the first time properly went clubbing in Canal street! And didn’t get back to the hotel until 3:45am .. WHO EVEN IS SHE?

The month ended on a somber note but to cheer my beautiful Jess up we went to a gorgeous park and enjoyed the sun, picnic and a day out! Looking beautiful 💖🥰 by @stephloutaylor

A while ago i was informed i had been nominated for a community pride award as part of the @nestoncyc CH64 Community Volunteer Awards and i was overwhelmed with the nomination but i definitely didn’t think i’d win as i was up against some incredible inspiring individuals

However …… I WON 🥹😭🥹

My write up says i won because “Steph volunteers with several organisations and has been supporting NCYC by utilising her videography and photography skills by putting together promotional videos about volunteering. Steph understands the importance of volunteering and wants to support her community by showcasing why people should volunteer. Steph has also offered her support in leading a photography course for young people and is working with NCYC to make this a reality”.

APRIL PHOTO DUMP ❤️

The month started out FABULOUS at Popilicious Popcorn where the most incredible Drag Queens performed

Then it was Easter weekend! Nantwich Jazz Fest seeing Tokyo Misfires! Then Easter Dinner with the family!

Onto Legally Blonde with a record breaking amount of people from our group seeing the show, 9 of us haha! It was incredible and Amber was outstanding!

Then it was @drewdoran0 birthday celebrations! 30??? Can you believe it??

Then my bestie and soulsister’s birthday celebrations at the Trafford Centre 🎉

Then the best experience being on a entrepreneurial panel discussing to an audience about our experiences through venture and what happened after!
