It was an honor to bring special remarks at today's Eastern District Fellowship (Texas State Council, Thirteenth Episcopal District) at NewLife Church in Longview. Thank you to Bishop Hershal Massenburge, District Speaker District Elder Alan Pollard, and Host Pastor Dr. Gale Johnson for opening the doors to Black Voters Matter.

We opened with "Oh Freedom" and answered Micah 6:8 together: do justly, love mercy, walk humbly. In this election, doing justly means protecting the vote. Our ask of East Texas churches:

✅ Name an Election Protection Lead
✅ Recruit poll monitors from your pews
✅ Commission them and send them out

Early voting starts TOMORROW, Oct 19–30. Election Day is Nov 3.
Sign up to be a poll monitor: link in bio.

We brought the Black Voters Matter bus to the No Kings Rally, and the energy was everything. There were signs and music, folks dancing, and people of every background standing together and saying it loud: It's About US.

But a rally is only the warm-up. Early voting in Texas starts Monday, Oct 19. 🗳️

✅ Avoid the last-minute dirty tricks and barriers
✅ Beat the crowds
✅ Get it done, no excuses

Protect the vote. Protect your voters. Protect yourself. 💜

We don't black down, we black it up! The South is rising, and the South has something to say. 🙌🏾

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good… to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God." Micah 6:8 🙏🏾
I had the honor and distinct privilege to speak at "As For Me and My House, We Will Vote," a revival for faith, justice, and a stronger future presented by the Houston Metropolitan Baptist Ministers Conference and Freedom Rising 2026 at The Mountain Church. ✊🏾
I brought a call to faith leaders: Do justly. Protect the vote. Our churches have always been where our movements are built, and this election we need our congregations on the ground as poll monitors. That means watching the polls, documenting any issues, and protecting access for our elders and our neighbors. 🗳️
Thank you to Rev. Nico Mathews, Rev. John A. Moore, Dr. S.J. Gilbert II, Bishop James Dixon DMin II, and guest preacher Dr. Jamal H. Bryant for the invitation, and for a powerful night in the house of God. 💛
📅 Texas Early voting starts MONDAY, Oct. 19
🗳️ Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3

THE BLACKEST BUS IN AMERICA PULLED UP TO PVAMU! 💜💛

We linked up with students at Prairie View A&M to talk voting, share early voting info, and make sure folks know how to make their voices heard this election.

Because Homecoming is about showing love to your school and your community. And looking out for your community means knowing what’s on the ballot, when you can vote, and how to make your vote count.

Shoutout to The Cornerstone Project Fellows, the NAACP Student Chapter, Conscious Lee, and everyone who helped bring this activation to life! ✊🏾

#PVAMU, y’all know how to show up. Now let’s bring that same energy to the polls. 🗳️

What a wonderful time connecting with the student leaders at the University of North Texas (UNT)! 🖤✊🏾🗳️

Shoutout to Nikkolas Addy and the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) for bringing students together for Black Votes Matter: Know, Register, Vote!

These young power builders didn’t just show up — they LEANED IN and LED! 🔥 Students facilitated powerful conversations about the issues impacting their communities, explored ways to get involved, recruited volunteers, and started building their campus Get Out The Vote (GOTV) strategy!

This is what building power looks like! Young people taking ownership of their voices, organizing their peers, and turning conversations into ACTION!

I’m grateful that Black Voters Matter could pull up, share resources, and support these future leaders. The energy, passion, and commitment were inspiring!

The future isn’t just in good hands — these young leaders are building it RIGHT NOW! 💪🏾

East Texas, we see you! 🖤✊🏾🙌🏾

Road trip to Lufkin, Texas, to fellowship, build relationships, share resources, and connect with faith and community leaders committed to making a difference!

A special thank you to Pastor Andro Branch for the invitation and opportunity to join the conversation around voter education, engagement, and getting our communities to the polls.

There’s something powerful about faith leaders coming together with a shared vision, a commitment to service, and a willingness to put faith into ACTION! 🙏🏾

1,000 churches. One BIG vision. And a whole lot of community power!

Grateful for the fellowship, the connections, and the opportunity to support the work already happening in East Texas.

The work doesn’t stop at the city limits. We’re building power everywhere our people are! 🖤💛✊🏾

A little work, a little play… and a whole lot of HOUSTON! 🤘🏾❤️😂

One thing about me, I can be on a mission and STILL make time to enjoy the journey! 💃🏾

Building relationships, building community, building power… and somewhere in between, finding a little time to explore, laugh, and make memories.

Because the work is serious, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some JOY along the way! 🖤✊🏾

Work hard. Play a little. Love life. Repeat! 😂❤️

😂 grandma life is beautiful AND chaotic:

Brunch with my babies and their babies. 🥰❤️

Picky eaters. A million and ONE questions. 😂 Constant reminders to “use your inside voice.” Somebody always needs something, somebody doesn’t like what they ordered, and somebody is definitely doing the most. 🤦🏾‍♀️😂

But in between all of that? An abundance of hugs, kisses, laughter and love. ❤️

Watching my babies with their babies is one of those blessings that hits different. 🥹 My heart—and apparently my brunch table—is FULL.

10/10 would do the chaos all over again. 😂❤️ #GrandmaLife by @stephny420

Honored to share voter mobilization and election protection strategies with Bishop Hershal Massenburge and these esteemed pastors. 🙏🏾🗳️

Our faith leaders have always been trusted voices in our communities, and their leadership is especially important in rural communities across Texas—helping ensure people have access to accurate voting information, understand their rights, and are prepared to make their voices heard.

Empowerment. Access. Protection. Mobilization.
When we equip trusted community leaders with the tools and resources they need, that knowledge reaches families, congregations, and entire communities.

Grateful for the invitation from Pastor Andro Branch and for every pastor committed to making sure their communities are informed, prepared, and protected at the polls.

Faith + Power + Community = Stronger Communities.
Praise the Lord, Pastors! 🙌🏾💛🖤 by @stephny420

From Dallas to El Paso… I stay OUTSIDE! 😂✈️

New city, same energy! 🙌🏾 Made it to downtown El Paso and clearly I had to stop and give the city a proper hello. 😂❤️

One thing about me—I’m going to find some joy, take the picture, and make a memory wherever the work takes me.
