In honor of Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic heritage month here are some old photos I took or made on the border of US/ Mexico.

I did a whole photography final about identity as a first generation Mexican American and daughter of an immigrant. It feels like the saying “Ni de allá, ni aqui” has always resonated with me growing up between two worlds and I know a lot of us feel like third culture kids who grew up in the RGV. It is a totally different place that is neither fully American nor Mexican. We have our own holiday/ parade called Charro Days which celebrates the friendship between the US and Mexico. It feels like those simple times are in the past and there is so much tension now.

Go enjoy some Mexican food today and when you do, think of those whose hands made the food or who build the brick and mortar to house the cuisine. Some of these people are in cages today like animals and others are struggling to make ends meet. Never stop fighting for justice of the oppressed. ❤️ Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽

So sad hearing today about the passing of one of my favorite singer-songwriters and musicians @glenhansard. This was from his show in Lawrence, Kansas in 2012. It’s still one of the best live shows I have ever been to. I will forever enjoy the passion in his songs 😭❤️🥺

My first Mother’s Day 2026 🫶🏻

This is hard and holy,
Sacred and scary,
Beautiful and wild.

This journey is teaching me so much & showing me more of who God is and how far He goes to show us His love even when we fight Him every step of the way. There is a strength that rises that isn’t my own but it’s that resurrection power flowing in me that makes me do impossible things. 6 years since we said our vows:

I never imagined all we would go through in these few shorts years but I wouldn’t choose to do this life with anyone else.

2025: the year of extreme highs and lows. The year that broke me in ways I could’ve never known. The year I learned how to appreciate tiny glimmers of hope. The year where God taught me that His strength takes over in my weakness. The year He taught me how to hold on & be present when everything in me wanted to run away. It was an unforgettable year.

Hi friends,

I should have announced this earlier but I have removed all of my music from Spotify because of their current terms and conditions. They have always paid artists very poorly for their music streams and now they even want to allow others to remix or use AI to create music out of artists songs. As an indie artist who writes all my own music that is not okay with me at all. You cannot steal art and make money off it.

*Edit: Tidal also says they can use the artists photo and has some shady tactics. So I wouldn’t consider them to the level of Spotify but still wouldn’t go with them as an option for streaming music.

I hope you continue to support my music on other streaming platforms like Apple, YouTube, Deezer, etc. I am working on new songs and hoping to release them!
