Ok, I’m trying this again (And hopefully I'll do better this time around)! 😂 I chose ten books from my StoryGraph TBR & Reading Challenges that I’m hoping to squeeze in before the year ends. This list is a little bit of everything... dark fantasy, fantasy romance, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, forbidden romance, magic, dragons, vampires, and probably more morally gray men than I need. 😂 Do you have a “before the end” list too? #bookstagram #10beforetheend #tbr #bookhopefuls #idratherbereading by @stephreads.tx
“You know,” he said, “this is why I love you so much.” Her tone was heartbreakingly warm. “What do you mean?” You don’t ask me to go inside because it’s cold. You just want to make it easier for me to be where I want to stand.” ~ J.R. Ward, Lover Avenged I love the relationship between Wrath and Beth. ❤️❤️ #myfavoritequotes #bookquotes #blackdaggerbrotherhood #JRWard #bookstagram by @stephreads.tx
My October book recap! I ended up reading quite a bit more this month, but I’m starting to feel a little jaded and think I might need to mix things up genre-wise. I had more 3.5-star reads this month than usual, and these are typically the kinds of books I would have absolutely loved. So now I’m wondering if I’m just feeling a little numb when it comes to reading, or if they genuinely just weren’t for me. 🤷‍♀️ Either way, I think November might be a good time to step outside my usual reading comfort zone and try something different! Just finished another Catherine Cowles book! Broken Harbor is book 3 in the Sparrow Falls series, and I ended up giving it 3.5 stars. I just didn't enjoy this one as much as I was hoping to. It felt like I was reading the book just to get through the book, if you know what I mean. The characters felt a little flat to me, and I struggled to connect with them. Obviously, I wanted Cope and Sutton to get together because I do think they both deserved love and that kind of relationship, but I just wasn't invested in their story. Ya know? I think the predictability of the plot played a part in my enjoyment, too. Luca was probably the character I rooted for the most, though! ❤️ I wanted to complete the whole series because I really enjoyed the first two books, especially the first, but I think I'm going to take a little break before continuing. This one just didn't leave much of an impression on me, and I have a feeling I won't remember much about it down the road. by @stephreads.tx
“After spending a whole day trying to make myself useful, acting as his personal shadow in an effort to learn the ropes around here, I’ve discovered that it’s like trying to read a book while the cover and pages are glued together.” ~ Elliott Rose, Chasing the Wild #myfavoritequotes #bookquotes #bookish #crimsonridge #elliottrose by @stephreads.tx
I decided it's finally time to start book 7 of DCC, This Inevitable Ruin. It's been a couple of months since I read Bedlham Bride but I'm hoping diving right back into it will help me remember 😂 #dungeoncrawlercarl #mattdinniman #bookstagram #currentlyreading by @stephreads.tx
“Lolli flipped her silver hair over her shoulder. “I think you could use a little Mary Jane in your life. Might chill you out enough to get your priorities in order instead of trying to take advantage of everyone in your orbit. Honestly, maybe we should go for a pot enema. Might clear out your bullshit.” ~ Catherine Cowles, Broken Harbor I have to say, Lolli is probably my favorite character. #myfavoritequotes #bookquotes #sparrowfalls #catherinecowles #bookworm by @stephreads.tx
Currently listening to Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward! This is a reread, but I don’t think I’ve read it since 2019, so it’ll been fun to revisit! I started rereading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series last year because I’ve never actually finished the entire series. I’m pretty sure I stopped around book 11, and she just released book 24 last month! Soooo, I definitely have some catching up to do! This reread is also making me even more excited for season 2 of the show, which comes out in just a few days! 🙌🖤 Have you read the series? And are you watching the show? #currentlylisteningto #blackdaggerbrotherhood #jrward #currentread #bookstagram by @stephreads.tx
Gallows Bridge by Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valeni ~ 3.5 Stars Another Twisted Sisters series down, a couple more to go! Despite the lower star rating on this book, I actually did enjoy this series. It just felt like it droned on too long for my liking. And even though I liked it, I think this is my least favorite series of theirs so far. It didn't rip my heart out like the Solarian universe did, and it wasn't as dark as Brutal Boys. I still enjoyed the characters and the overall story, but I just never felt as emotionally invested in this series as I have in their others. It wasn't a bad read by any means, but it also didn't leave me with that feeling of desperately needing more that I've gotten from some of their other books. I'm still looking forward to diving into more of their worlds, though, because these two women know how to keep me coming back for more! #justfinishedreading #bookreview #theharlequincrew #twistedsisters #idratherbereading by @stephreads.tx

“I was going to have to be…sociable. Shudder.“ ~ Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti, Gallows Bridge I feel this one in my bones. 😂 #myfavoritequotes #bookquotes #twistedsisters #theharlequincrew #bookstagram by @stephreads.tx
