Booked the flight on Sunday. Left on Tuesday.
Didn’t even have real pants or a jacket. Just a strong sense of “it’ll all work out”.

Sometimes impulsive decisions aren’t reckless. They’re the ones that remind you you’re alive.

I wandered winding streets with no destination. Sat outside in the cold rain talking about life. Explored caves. Danced until the sun came up. Took in views that remind you how beautiful life really is. Ate more pastel de nata than I will ever admit. Pocket pastéis, if you will.
Also did you know you have to lift a tiny thing to reverse? Because I didn’t. Shout out to the random family that helped me off the side of a mountain.

What started as a solo trip turned into shared dinners, inside jokes, and people who felt like family by the end.

Go get lost by yourself. It does something for the soul.

I woke Bodhi up in the middle of the night with nothing but, “Hey, we gotta go.”
He had no idea where or why… and 13 hours later we were landing in Oahu.

We spent eight days chasing sun, lounging on beaches, ziplining, snorkeling, luaus, and wandering through the real-life world of his favorite movie.

All because my dude loves Jurassic Park.

Second competition done! No gold medal, but I had an incredible time and gained so much experience. Still plenty to work on, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come! First competition in the books!

Walking in, I had two goals, get the first one done and don’t get submitted. Mission accomplished! Made some silly mistakes, but I had a blast and learned a ton.

Huge thank you to my coaches and teammates for all of the support and for putting up with (and continuing to put up with) my white belt nonsense.

Excited to keep improving and come back stronger for the next one!

36 has never felt better! This past July, I hit a milestone and can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m thriving, pushing boundaries, and embracing new challenges—whether it’s picking up hobbies that occasionally lead to black eyes or hitting new goals in the gym. Mentally and physically, I’m in the best shape of my life. Here’s to more growth, health, and joy ahead! 🌸✨ by @stephteneel
