Makeup lovers listen up! 👇🏾I love a good face beat but I love my skin more! So that’s why I make sure that every day, especially on make up days— I go in with a double cleanse routine then follow up with a very hydrating routine to restore my skin from all the drying powders! •••Have you heard of or currently using a double cleanse routine? by @stephtician

Sunscreen is thee single most important step in your routine because if we’re being honest when it comes to our skin goals the sun does NOT want to see us win, okay! The sun can cause: • Pre-mature aging • Skin sensitivity • Worsening of hyperpigmentation • Delayed skin results And what does sunscreen do? Prevent all the above! 👆🏽If you’re not wearing sunscreen or have a hard time staying consistent, that could be one of the reasons you’re not seeing results. Not applying the correct amount of sunscreen is a major issue I notice as well! You want to be using 1/4th of a teaspoon or 3 finger lengths for your face, neck, and chest 🧴I love the Dew Glow Moisturizer SPF 50 from @naturiumskin because of the glow (duh), but also because you can measure out the sunscreen using the cap! 🥹🔥•••• #skincaretips #skin #esthetician #dryskin #oilyskin #sunscreen by @stephtician

The single most important thing to do for your skin is to hydrate it! It’s literally what makes the skin plump & gives it is “glass appearance” ✨Especially during these cold seasons, our skin tends to not hold hydration as much leaving it dehydrated. This is why I love toners & hydrating serums so much because it’s like a big gulp of water for our skin. Make sure to always seal your hydrating products with a moisturizer to lock it all in ✨And lastly, make sure to always hydrate more than you exfoliate! We don’t want an impaired skin barrier ❌Some of my favorite hydrating ingredients: 💧Beta Glucan💧Glycerin 💧Hyaluronic Acid💧 Sodium PCA 💧 Aloe Vera 💧Heartleaf by @stephtician

Tyrosinase Inhibitor + Retinoid + Sunscreen = hyperpigmentation GONE ✨You’ll see me use Tyrosinase Inhibitor & Pigment inhibitor interchangeably but just know they’re the same thing! Tyrosinase Inhibitors slow down the production of melanin to reduce the existing hyperpigmentation in the skin to give you an even, bright skin! Then at night time you’ll want to go in with a Retinoid to increase cellular turnover to get rid of dead skin cells and reveal that new skin. It also stimulates collagen production to make sure there’s no sagging of your skin for a VERY long time, improves texture, and so much more! Retinoids do it ALL! Everyone over 25 should be incorporating a form of Retinoids into their routine. You won’t regret it! And Sunscreen, DUH! This is my non-negotiable. It’s the anchor to make sure your existing skin concerns don’t exacerbate and protects you from UV damage which is known to accelerate the aging process & hyperpigmentation! Get these 3 products in your routine now! DM “Consultation” to get you started on your skincare journey ❤️‍🔥 by @stephtician

Hyperpigmentation is a huge concern in the melanated community. With the incorporation of Tyrosinase inhibitors, it is possible to get rid of stubborn pigment overtime! FACT: you cannot effectively treat hyperpigmentation without the use of a broad spectrum sunscreen. It is a NON-NEGOTIABLE! My top picks for tyrosinase inhibitors are: @glymedplus Daily Skin Clarifier @glymedplus Pigment Brightening Serum @skinbetter Even Tone TIP: Be sure to incorporate exfoliating acids in your routine to increase cellular turnover to reveal that newer & brighter skin ✨Stay tuned for more! by @stephtician

Start SIMPLE. Then build A simple cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen (for the morning) Same cleanser & moisturizer only (Night time) Eventually you can add targeted serums to help with your specific skin concerns. The goal is to not overwhelm yourself with different products when you’re just starting out. It’s a marathon not a sprint! 💙Products used: @alliesofskin Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser@glymedplus Oxygen Cream @kravebeauty Beet the Sun SPF by @stephtician

Do you feel like your skin has a hard time holding in moisture during the dry seasons?Just know you’re not alone and this is due to drop in temperature and lack of humidity so it’s harder for skin- especially skin of color to retain moisture & hydration!Using these tips provided will help retain that moisture in the skin:💦 Humidifiers add moisture in the air, preventing dryness and maintaining skin hydration. My favorite humidifier is from @doterra as it can last on up to 24 hours without needing to refill it with water!☀️ No matter the season a pigment inhibitor is needed as hyperpigmentation does not rely on the seasons to pop up on your skin. Being proactive and preventative is key for an even complexion!I love the Daily Skin Clarifier from @glymedplus because along with pigment inhibiting ingredients it contains antioxidants to further protect the skin from external environmental factors.💦 Hydrating masks are specifically formulated to provide intense hydration and contain ingredients that replenish moisture and restore hydration levels.@facerealityskincare has an amazing mask that intensely hydrates and is filled with anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness.Glymed’s hydrating mask is also amazing for deep hydration along with providing a light exfoliation that eats away at dead skin cells to reveal brighter & supple skin!🧴A moisturizer helps strengthen and repair your skin barrier, providing a shield against cold winds and dry air.EVERYONE needs the Comfort Cream from Glymed in their arsenal! Formulated with aloe vera it immediately calms upset and irritated skin.💙 I love a good multi-purpose balm especially Glymed’s Cell Balm Protection. You can use it to prevent moisture loss or sooth extra dry & itchy skin!👄 I feel like our lips tend to suffer the most during the cold seasons! You neglect it for one second and it wants to dry up & possibly cause bleeding from the intense dryness. I have not experienced that ever since I started using Glymed’s Hydrating Lip Balm! It’s incredibly healing and you can go hours without reapplication! Thank me later! DM me so we can get your skin right this winter season! by @stephtician
