My biggest goal for this year was to figure out my health issues. I knew whatever was going on was deeper than what doctors were telling me and was slowly impacting my everyday.

In August I was diagnosed with endometriosis and last week had laparoscopic surgery to remove it. The endo had heavily attached to my appendix so they removed that as well. They also found early endo implants on my ovaries, something that likely would have led to worse issues.

I’m so thankful I listened to my body - not the handful of doctors who told me my symptoms like brain fog, extreme fatigue, lack of energy, and chronic pain were due to ADD, depression, or “just painful periods.” These were all symptoms of endo and not things we should normalize.

I received an emailed letter this month from myself 3 years ago - turns out 29 isn’t as terrifying as it seemed and every single thing I was so desperately hoping for, happened. I hope this is encouragement that the things you’re working toward could be right around the corner & to take a second to celebrate the parts of your life that once only existed as prayers, hopes, or dreams by @ster_it__up
