how amazing it is to be vulnerable without anyone judging but instead by being able to pray about it and encourage one another.

a postcard from camp carl
this summer, i made the decision to come back to my second home and what an impact it has had. God loves these kids more than we ever could, and I’m so grateful He lets us be part of that love. as i look back one thing is so clear: kids need Jesus. They need to be seen, known, and loved no matter what and they deserve that love, every single day. loving them was both the easiest and hardest thing. easy because of their laughter, honesty, and joy. hard because love takes patience, presence, and sacrifice. but that’s exactly the kind of love Jesus gives us and the kind we want to keep showing here at camp.
Psalms 63:1-4.

welcome to the final show- harry styles
if you told 8 year old me i was working at camp carl where i went as a camper, 8 year old me would not believe you at all. i can’t explain how i loved every. single. moment. of camp. I came in not knowing what i was going into but i expected it to be easy, it wasn’t camp gave me ups and it gave me downs but, i think that is what gives you the full experience of working at a summer camp. i was asked a question during our position specific during staff training he asked the question of “what is your why for working here” i honestly didn’t know what my why was, and now that i think of it my why is, i am fulfilling of being a servant to the Lord and serving kids with love and compassion and showing God through me showing how God loves these kid as much as support staff and counselors love them. over the summer i have learned to lean back in the living arms of our beautiful father. i can rest and give Him my all to Him. i found camp as a safe haven and i wouldn’t change that. God has changed me throughout this summer everyday while i was there. God has gave me new people, new friendships and made me even closer to Him. i’m giving all my glory to God. thank you camp carl for a wonderful summer and i cannot wait for next year taken in Camp Carl by @steuart_
