Summer at St Eval.⁠
⁠
The heat has settled into the land this July, into the dry earth, the hedgerows, the long grass standing still in the afternoon sun.⁠
⁠
The team have been tending to our green spaces, with onions and leeks in the ground, cosmos and verbena climbing, and sunflowers turning their faces to the light. Sweet peas are climbing wherever they can find a hold, and there is something quietly wonderful about watching a patch of ground come to life.⁠
⁠
The orchard has had its share of visitors this summer. The deer have been drawn to the younger trees, helping themselves in the way that deer do, unhurried and entirely unbothered. It is hard to begrudge them it. Protectors going in over the coming weeks, and the trees, given a little time and shelter, will find their way.⁠
⁠
And the hives. Every single one of them full and busy this summer, a wonderful sign of healthy land and a good wildflower year. On a farm like this one, that means everything.⁠
