We Need to Talk is the 2026 She’s Got Time Space MakHER✨

Swin Cash and Steve Canal presented this year’s Space MakHER Award to the Emmy Award winning, first-ever all women’s sports show, We Need to Talk (@weneedtotalk).

Coordinating Producer at CBS Sports and We Need to Talk, Amy Salmanson (@a_salmo), received the award on the behalf of everyone who built the show from the ground up and continue to do so over a decade later.

Building something meaningful takes more than talent. It takes the commitment to stay focused when others are moving in different directions, the courage to invest in a vision before everyone else sees it, and the leadership to bring exceptional people together to make it real. Life moves fast, but every now and then it’s worth pausing to appreciate the moments that become memories.

The last few weeks have been filled with family, friends, culture, purpose, and the privilege of creating spaces where people connect. From FIFA and the Knicks Championship parade to building experiences through ONE Musicfest, Beltline Fest, the HBCU Empower Summit w/ Saint Miles, and Atlanta’s Cultural Exchange… to celebrating milestones with people I love across New York and the Caribbean.

Business matters. Community matters. Culture matters. But at the end of the day, it’s the people we share it all with that make the journey unforgettable.
