Celebrating a birthday for me is really about sharing time with the people that have made life so great. Here is a short love letter to the people that have made me laugh and feel like I belong. For those not in the video you were missed and top of mind. Let’s hope next year we can actually celebrate a bit more normally. Thank you to everyone who helped make it an amazing day. It was exactly what I needed.

Happy Birthday to this wacky lady. This charitable goof. This cheesy cheeser. This whimsical beauty. This new wave nerd. This vibrant vestige of vitality.

This past year was a huge ride. From Go Birds, to Buckees. From Copenhagen to California. And all the moments and places in between - I’m very lucky to have experienced them it with you- and even more excited to see what this next year of Sarah, has in store.

2025 was a ride. Some big ups, massive downs, and some really great times spent with amazing people I’ve been able to find in this world. Now it’s time to make 2026 the best year yet.

This was the last time I saw my dear cousin Evan. September 24th 2024 - his 30th birthday celebration.
His gracious soul passed on this past Wednesday. It has been a devastating week.

We got more time than science said we should have with him, but no timeline would have been enough. He was one of the best human beings to walk this earth. And the greatest person I’ve ever met. Even though I was the older cousin, supposed to be paving the way for him, and showing him the way things should be, the opposite was true. He taught me how to love without hesitation, be more patient, and not worry so much about the things that don’t really matter. He shared his passion for coffee with me, and set the example of what it meant to be a servant to others and a greater purpose. He gave me and so many others so much joy. To know him, was to love him.

The one thought that stirs endlessly in my head is a wish that more people could have known him, could have experienced the gift even a small conversation with him could be.

Now I sit here trying to force my grief into the shape of gratefulness. To be grateful that we had as long as we did, that we are family, that I got more time than many did with him, that I got to learn about the world from him, and was shown what it means to persevere. I am grateful that we can see him in his children, that the echos of his life will be loud in me and many others, and that he no longer suffers.

And today we get to celebrate that.

As I said in my vows, you’re the girl of my dreams, and not a day goes by where I am not thankful for you.

Your people love you. I love you. And even though you’re much much much older than I am, you don’t look or act like it so really who cares 🤷🏻‍♂️.

A whole year married, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Hard to believe it’s only been a year and yet, it feels like we’ve done so much! Thank you for being a great partner, support system, confidant, inspiration, cheer leader, and so much more. Here’s to another year of laughs and trying to decide what to have for dinner! Over the past 14 weeks I’ve been in the Goldman Sachs #10ksb program. I was 1 of 35 businesses selected out of over 300 applicants for the final live cohort in Philadelphia. The program is essentially an accelerated MBA for entrepreneurs where your business is at the center of your curriculum. It has been at least one day a week from 7:30am-5:00pm plus 5-15 hours of work on top since January. Not a small commitment.

This opportunity was very much a “you get out, what you put in” type of learning engine. And I put in a lot.

What I got back was an amazing set of peers that Inspire me to do better, to perform higher, and ground me as I push to make my business grow. And a better understanding of my business, the numbers and what’s possible. Beyond that, I gained a lot of new, close friendships. Our cohort got very tight, and while I am very happy to have my full week back, I will miss spending time with these other impressive business owners in the program every week.

It was a valuable experience that has changed the way I run my business, the core structure of my professional career, and the path I see ahead.

To all to my fellow classmates, thank you. To my patient wife @to_be_determined, thank you for the endless support. To my team @bowtie_social thank you for holding down the fort and joining me on this journey. To the rest of my friends and family, thank for the encouragement.
