My first experience in a car that has been on so many peoples ‘life moodboards’ or if not, already in their garages in past generations. There’s no hiding the fact that I’m passionate about driving and to me, this is a highlight drive moment. As we move into a tech-driven world, it is very encouraging to see that the new RS5’s technology only enhances with the most amazing engagement and connection to something very real. 93 til… Pretty cool spending some time back in Queenstown with @a_n_t_s_f_o_r_r_e_a_l and the @questqt team. I worked for Ants over 30 years ago, when snowboarding was still finding its feet. Originally named B.O.A, Quest has always been more than somewhere you went to buy stuff… it’s always been part of the culture.
A place to meet, hang out and feel a sense of belonging.
Inspiring to see what Ants and the team have built from those roots. Still evolving, still independent and still connected to the culture that started it.

I feel so energised doing what I love. Being in Queenstown, bringing those loves to life amongst great people and adventures, has been remarkably rewarding. To work across such a variety of projects… and, for a moment, to do it remotely from a winter paradise has been amazing. Spending time at @sherwood_queenstown with my Rane Four getting preparing for this Saturday night at @hydebarnz with good friends @scapegrace If in the Southern Lakes region, please pull up as if last years gig was anything to go by, it’s looking to be a good one. Great to be able to present at the iMedia Marketing Summit this week. It was a chance to share some of the lessons I have learnt over the past three decades building brands, communities and cultures.
Great brands don’t start with marketing.
They start with values, values create culture, culture shapes identity, identity creates belonging.
Belonging lived consistently, earns trust. Code of the streets.

Sunday morning coffee and a drive in the new Audi A6 Avant… I’ve always had a soft spot for an Avant (otherwise known as wagon). There’s something about the proportions that make this look so right. Two loves of life. Surfing and driving. It’s amazing how similar it they can be. I have been taught on track experiences, to look through the corner and how that can be also be applied to surfing and life in general! ‘You go where you look’ this has stuck in my head for a longtime and I most definitely use it in life!
