First time meeting Steve. I walk up, introduce myself, ask: 24 flat or 23.98?

Steve: “As fast as you can go.”

I’d confirmed no slow motion with the producer before the shoot. Slowmo on an LED wall should always be a conversation beforehand… but here we are.

12K at 60fps is no joke. Flipped the system over to 60 and we brute-forced the aliasing with sheer resolution. @asus @nvidia #blackwell

@ianfursa built the level and it shows — he knows what he’s doing. @stevegiralt is a great DP, no notes from me. None of the usual, no flagging spill off the wall. Lots of backlight, small concentrated front lights.

Super LED team. A lot of talent in one room.

This shoot inspired me to figure out high speed stills. More on that later, but we achieved 1/500th shutter with the help of @edwardrichardson

This is step one, the next step is including a GPS guided servo controlled parasail to control the return along with all sorts of data from Gyro, Barameter, and more… and of course. Not every experiment succeeds. But every experiment teaches you something.

In many ways, @the_garage.tv was the experiment.

What started as curiosity eventually became robots, motion control systems, virtual production stages, Ai workflows, and a lot of images that probably shouldn’t have been possible.

But it was never about the stuff or the space.

It was always about the people. The team, crew, the stylists, and the collaborators who were willing to experiment, fail, rebuild, and try again.

I’m proud that The Garage became a place where people felt safe to chase their own curiosity. That mindset matters now more than ever.

AI will reshape this industry. Workflows will change. Some things will get easier. Some things will get commoditized.

But taste, craft, and original thinking? Those only become more valuable.

Photography was a tool.
Robotics was a tool.
Virtual production was a tool.
AI will be one too.

What matters is the human instinct behind it all. The creative minds and the passionate craftsmen helping create that work.

This chapter is closing. But honestly, I’m more creatively fired up than ever. If anything, losing the walls of The Garage just means I can go further.

To everyone who came through The Garage: Thank You. You are some of the most talented, curious, and driven creatives I’ve ever had the privilege of working alongside. Keep building. Keep pushing. And I hope to continue to work alongside you in the future.

And to the clients, brands, and collaborators who trusted us to chase ambitious ideas with you, thank you for believing in what we were building. I truly hope we continue finding new ways to create together in this next chapter.

And if you have an idea that feels impossible, I’d love to help push it farther than ever before. Reach out!

Part of my pivot is about trying new things with new collaborators.

I’ve spent years chasing precision. Controlled frames. Perfect moments.

This is a cut of my DP work I’ve shot with directors and creative directors running the show. Less about control. More about instinct, timing, and collaboration. That back and forth is what makes it. I love finding something that ends up being better than the original plan.

Everyone’s talking about AI right now. This is the other side of it.
Behind the scenes from recent projects. Not just how they were made, but how far they were pushed.
I’m always chasing the version of the shot that shouldn’t be possible. Breaking it, reshaping it, experimenting until it becomes something better.
Curiosity. Iteration. Craft.
And I’m just as excited to push Gen AI the same way as it evolves. Same level of craft.

I’m excited to be heading to the VP Gathering 2026 to lead a Masterclass on how we’re Reinventing Tabletop Cinematography Through Virtual Production, pushing precision, control, and creative possibilities in ways that were previously not feasible.

Huge thanks to @roevisual for supporting the event and helping bring together such a strong lineup of speakers and real-world case studies. This is where the conversation is shifting from what is possible to what actually works on set.
