I’ve been improvising since I was seven years old. Just sitting down at the piano and letting whatever came through, come through. No plan. No roadmap. Just that.

’Sacred Math’ is the album I’ve always wanted to make. Piano improvisations and impromptus, born in single creative acts, grounded in everything I’ve learned and everything I’ve felt. The sacred act of improvisation, and the math of technique and counterpoint.

I’ve spent a long time inside Taylor Swift’s world: her music, her storytelling, and her sheer tenacity in building all she’s built. And the more time I spent with her songs, the more convinced I became: this music was always meant for strings ☺️🎻.
’The Taylor Swift Suite’ is six orchestral reimaginations of some of her most powerful work, from ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ to “All Too Well” in its complete 10+ minute form. It’s out June 19, with “All Too Well” arriving May 29 and “Blank Space” on June 5.

And there’s more coming. I’ll be announcing new dates for ‘Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era’, a full orchestral production weaving together 42 of her songs, performed live with orchestra, band and vocalists. Subscribe at the link in bio to be the first to know.

When two voices move together in music, there are only three things they can do. Move in the same direction: parallel motion. Move in opposite directions: contrary motion. Or one stays still while the other moves: oblique motion. Every great composer and songwriter moves freely between all three. That’s what gives music its variety and inventiveness.
