I am so flattered today!!! the great sally_edmonds_art just bought one of my birds the Pied Oyster Catcher. Sally is the most talented artist in birds I have seen and paints in such super realism, I am in awe......and yet Sally loves my simple abstract style birds !!! Thank you Sally I am very flattered from some one of such talent I am so proud I had to do this post. #sally_edmonds_art by @steveinneshandmade

Updated version of my Pied Oyster Catcher with curved pine base that exposes the grain to look like soft wave lines of the sandy shoreline. You can order a bird to be made on my website if you like it....www.steveinneshandmade.com.au #woodenbird #bird #handmade #craft #abstractart #AbstractArtSculpture

I have been cutting for days !!! Note the little wren pieces in cups....if I mix them up its a nightmare to match the bits, so I number every small bit to avoid that mistake. #woodenbird #bird #handmade #craft #abstractart #AbstractArtSculpture

Welsome to my new stockist in Queenscliff, pop in and say to hi to my birds....Just arrived by @steveinneshandmade

A lady contacted me as a lover of my birds..with the question " can the birds be used outside on a patio, by the sea"...No the regular wooden birds I make are made as interior art. But I got to thinking, if I cast a mould of my birds, I could cast it in eco friendly Jesmonite and use exterior. grade Cypress Macrpcarpa and glue it all with 2 pack epoxy glue.....Sure I can make one it was a challenge for me....and here it is , I love the stone like airbubbles gives it character, its not painted but cast in the colours of the mix. So the colour goes right through.#woodenbird #bird #handmade #craft #abstractart #AbstractArtSculpture
