Good Friday on Ben Nevis.

The final chapter of winter climbing season, and what a way to close it out. One last push through snow, ice, and that wild mountain silence, chasing the kind of days you wish you could bottle forever.
Myself, Iain, and Steve set out for one more adventure, and The Ben delivered everything we could’ve hoped for , sharp air, frozen lines, tired legs, plenty of laughs, and memories carved into the mountain just as much as into us.
There’s something special about that last climb of the season… equal parts grit, gratitude, and not quite being ready to let winter go. A proper send-off with good mates, good conditions, and a Good Friday climb to remember. Until next season, winter ⛏️⛏️❄️🏔️

The health metrics on my watch were off the chart, and I can guarantee you I’ve replaced the 4,863kcal it said I burned.

Sitting here with every muscle in my body aching, I’m just thankful to be able to do the things I do. And to @scotty_boomboom and @i_madventure , it’s a privilege to climb with you boys.

It certainly was a "Good Friday Climb" Grade III***

The "Alpine Knee" (noun)
Is a climbing technique in which a climber uses their knee instead of a foot to gain height, maintain balance, or mantle onto a ledge. Often considered a “dirty” or desperate move. And if you don't like it you can fuck right off!

Lochnagar was an absolute stomp!
With the overhanging cornices cracking around us, our plans had to change dramatically. But that’s the beauty of the mountains you have to adapt and get after it.

@i_madventure stepped up and (possibly!) put up a new line on Triangle Buttress, delivering a phenomenal lead for @scotty_boomboom and me to second. Brilliant effort from all and an unforgettable day out.

The only downside? Watching the lads splitboard effortlessly back to the bothy while I hoofed it on foot… safe to say I was extremely jealous. Still, getting back to a cold beer and a roaring fire waiting for me made it all worthwhile. Hard to beat that kind of welcome after a big day out. 🍺🔥
