Watching @lovestoryfx and naturally, I’m focused on the real estate.Jackie O: 1040 Fifth Avenue. Rosario Candela. This façade looks impossibly expensive 💰It wasn’t.Alwyn Court was built almost entirely in architectural terracotta, a material that made extreme ornamentation possible without the cost or weight of carved stone 🧱 At the turn of the century, this changed everything. Terracotta allowed architects to push scale, repetition, and detail in ways New York hadn’t seen before.That choice shaped a generation of buildings. For the first time in more than 50 years, there is a new building on Lower Fifth Avenue. On a stretch defined by prewar co-ops, landmark architecture, and old New York charm, @sixteenfifthavenue is a rare new arrival. Designed by @ramsarchitects, the building feels intentionally rooted in the Village. Very pleased to have recently sold the 15th-floor residence in the building. Before Midtown, there was Madison Square. In the Gilded Age, this was one of New York’s great social stages. In 1906, a very public murder tied to a love triangle made the neighborhood front-page news. The Knicks are headed back to the Finals for the first time since 1999 🏀🗽 A fitting moment to revisit the building New York simply calls The Garden. Madison Square Garden has lived four very different lives, beginning at Madison Avenue and 26th Street, before moving uptown and eventually rising above Penn Station.It has been a rail depot, an open-air arena, a Moorish landmark, the backdrop for a Gilded Age scandal, a boxing palace, and a basketball institution.
