“Burnham Lake” 🦢The heart of Baguio. So many stories live here. What’s your favorite Burnham Park memory?

Inspired by the iconic swan boats of Burnham Park, this national costume embodies the spirit of the City of Pines. Gracefully gliding across a moss-green lake, the swans reflect Baguio’s serene beauty and the harmony between nature and community. Yet beyond its elegance lies a story of courage. During floods in Cagayan, The swan boats were transformed into rescue vessels—symbols of compassion, heroism, and the enduring Filipino spirit of bayanihan.

GAMUGAMO 🦋👁️

In Philippines’ trove of superstition or “pamahiin”, Moths are the souls of departed (usually recent) relatives making their presence felt. Some moths have distinct marking called eyespots which they use as part of their defense mechanism to intimidate predators. Man has learned to harness this form of protection through establishment of magical systems and sorcery predating Spanish colonial times when the early pre-colonial Filipinos relied so much on spiritual and divine energies. This took the form of Agimat or Anting-Anting (talismans / amulets), believed to grant the wearer protection and luck.
