So here we are. A year later.

Saint Christopher is all yours. What a wildly beautiful journey this whole thing has been. After 12 years in LA and feeling like I had nothing to show for it. We made the thing I needed more than anything. More than feeling like I never got the chance to do the level of work I wanted to. More than trying to erase all the jobs I didn’t get. More than trying to do something to change my career.

To be dramatic, this changed my life.

I watched the first thing I ever made on the big screen in a movie theater surrounded by friends and family. My 15 year old self can’t believe it took this long. My 34 year old self is laughing at the younger version of myself who thought money and fame would make his existence matter. Making this lit the flame I thought I might have lost along the way.

“Don’t make it look like you care and this isn’t that big of a deal.” The thoughts of that younger man sometimes still echo in this old man’s head. A boy who needed movies and tv to save him from feeling alone, falling asleep thinking “Imagine if I got to do that one day.” Look at you kid, you did it and you’re not as alone as you think.

This life has turned out to be so different than what I thought I needed it to be. I do care about things and it’s absolutely a big deal. How wonderful is that?

No matter what happens after this, I am so grateful I took a chance. A chance on my dreams and a chance on myself.

Thanks again to @abbyktozer and @theconnorangus for helping make this dream possible. Thanks to my mom for grounding me when I said that “I couldn’t do something.”

If you have 12 minutes to spare, I hope this finds you at the right moment. Thanks for watching. Thanks for being here. Link in bio. by @stevenloomis

Los Angeles Premiere-Saint Christopher

LA Live/Regal Cinemas

Almost a year ago, we made this short film that I am so proud of. I’m hyper uncomfortable celebrating myself and organizing people to do so. So, I’m doing it for the 15 year old version of myself who can’t believe he finally gets to be on the big screen. It would mean the world to see some familiar faces. This has already been the most validating and fulfilling creative experience of my life and I’m so grateful to @abbyktozer and @theconnorangus for helping make this happen. I know tickets are a little pricey but if you know me, you know I haven’t had a birthday party in like 15 years so, allow me this indulgence. See you at the movies.

Saint Christopher

What started off as a monologue for class at @crashacting is now a short film. I can’t believe it. I had never really written anything before. Thank goodness everyone there is so supportive and celebrate people for trying new things, even if they’re scared.

So, I wrote about what I knew best and what I had avoided being vulnerable about for years. My mom. It poured out of me and I suddenly felt more creatively fulfilled than ever before.

None of this would have been possible without my gal and fearless leader @abbyktozer who after coming to see the monologue, super nonchalantly said “we gotta shoot this.” She directed her ass off and made this thing even better than I could have ever imagined. Truly, all it takes is one person to say, “I believe in you.”I’m forever grateful.

So, fully out of my comfort zone, I kept going. I hired @a2c_entertainment to help me. I truly could not have done this without them. @theconnorangus is a legend and is so good at what he does. @brendan.dp is so unbelievably talented, it’s sick.

We rented a church. We hired a crew for a 12 hour shoot. For the first time in my life, I believed in myself enough to create something. Without deflecting or hiding myself, I put art into the world.

I have a memory of her saying “walk with your eyes up” as a reminder to look where I was going and also as a reminder to be confident in myself.

She was right, like she was always right.

So, now I have a short film that is unabashedly me.
When it’s all said and done, I can sit back and say I made something. And I’m proud of it.

I created the thing I’ve always wanted to have.

A love letter to my mom.

I’m so grateful to everyone who helped make this happen. I can’t wait to show it to you.

Stay tuned. by @stevenloomis

Today was a day I’ve been dreaming about since I was a kid. I did it. After 9 years in LA, I finally booked my first theatrical role. One episode of a television series, 3 lines. This post has been a long long long time coming. I cried today. I danced. I laughed until my stomach hurt. I released years of frustration, sadness, confusion. I hadn’t booked a job in years. Years of auditioning and hearing nothing back. Years of getting close. Years of sorry, just wasn’t the right fit. Years of wondering if I was ever going to feel like I had the ability to work as an actor. Every day wanting to just work. Every day dreaming about being on a call sheet, being on set and being in front of the camera. I worked really hard to get here. Classes, rehearsals, studying and working on myself as a person. I never gave up because in my heart of hearts I knew I could do this. No matter what. All the ups and downs. I still told myself, it was just a matter of when, not a matter of if, it was going to happen. Being an actor is the only thing I’ve ever really wanted to do with my life. Even when my bank account was in the negative, my credit cards maxed out. People asking “how’s acting going?” Or “what have I seen you in?” For years. Wanting to shrink into a hole. Or make a joke about my “lack of success”. I didn’t. I kept going. I kept showing up. Remembering why I started this journey all those years ago. I made a promise to that scared, lonely kid. Telling myself you didn’t come this far just to come this far. I’m so grateful for the people in my corner. Even if it’s just this job, I made it. I proved myself right. My Mom used to say “Put the World on notice” I did it Mom, cheers. Keep going kid, you’re just getting started… by @stevenloomis
