Join us on Saturday, September 12th as we head back to the mountains of Kfardebian to relax under a New Moon Dark Sky. The night will include a Night Sky Tour, Astrophotography Session, and Maximum Chill!

Expect hot drinks around the campfire, a small booth selling bite-sized foods for a small fee, myself doing some personal astrophotography (you're free to ask and learn but we'll all be chilling), some star talk, and some of the clearest, darkest skies of the year! 🌌

🚗 $15 – Event Only (commuting by your own car)
🚌 $20 – Event + Round-Trip Bus Transportation

Join us on Friday, August 28th as we head back to the mountains of Kfardebian to relax under a fully Moon-lit sky. The night will be our chillest yet, and everyone will be free to do whatever they want, there is no sky tour, and no planned sessions💆🏻‍♂️

Expect hot drinks around the campfire, a small booth selling bite-sized foods for a small fee, no program whatsoever, myself doing some personal astrophotography (you're free to ask and learn but we'll all be chilling), some star talk, a Full Sturgeon Moon, and some clear skies!

Join us on Wednesday, August 12 for one of the most anticipated and darkest nights of the year as we head back to the mountains of Kfardebian to witness the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower.

Expect a full, guided tour of the night sky, an astrophotography session, hot drinks around the campfire, and - weather permitting - tens after tens of meteors streaking across the sky.

✨ One night. Hundreds of exposures. Thousands of stars.

After hours of shooting and stacking, the sky revealed its motion around the celestial pole in a single frame. Every streak you see is a star tracing its path across the night as Earth rotates relatively beneath it.

The photos you see are the final image, a less processed version, and some of the raw frames that made it possible. If you look carefully, you might even catch a few meteors crossing the scene. ☄️

This, to myself, is one of the most nicest images I've captured to date, and seeing it come together was a monumental task worth every minute under the stars and after!❤️

Somewhere above the mountains of Kfardebian, beyond the glow of city lights, the Milky Way stretches across the night sky exactly as it has for billions of years.

On Saturday, June 13th, I call you to join me for the Founding Edition of The Night Sky Project, an immersive initiative of evenings of astronomy, exploration, and wonder beneath one of Lebanon's darkest skies.

Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or simply curious about what lies beyond our world, this experience is designed to bring the universe closer than ever before.

🔭 During the evening, you'll enjoy:

✨ A guided Star Talk & Sky Tour
✨ Live astrophotography session through my telescopes
✨ Views of deep sky objects and the summer Milky Way
✨ Stories, science, and mythology behind the night sky
✨ Complimentary hot drinks
✨ A cozy bonfire under the stars
✨ An unforgettable night in nature

📍 Location: Kfardebian, Lebanon

🚌 Departure (location TBA on Whatsapp Group):
6:30 PM SHARP

🌌 Activities begin at the observing site:
8:30-8:45 PM

⏰ Expected return:
Between 12:00 AM and 1:00 AM

Wildlife Photography with a Telescope?! 🔭

Clear skies have been rare lately, so I took the chance to do something different: trying wildlife photography.

This Laudakia vulgaris was basking on a rock, perfectly still, patiently waiting for the slightest movement of a passing fly before making its move. 🦎☀️ It's quite mind-blowing thinking that I took this image with a telescope, no?

Captured from Lebanon 🇱🇧, this is the breathtaking Orion Nebula (M42) - one of the most iconic and active stellar nurseries in our night sky.

Located 1,300 light-years away in the constellation Orion, this cloud of gas and dust is a region where new stars are being born right now. At its heart lies the famous Trapezium Cluster, a group of extremely young, massive stars whose powerful radiation excites the surrounding hydrogen gas - making it glow in those deep reds, pinks, and purples you see in this image.

What you’re looking at is not just beauty, it’s physics in action. Gravity pulling matter together, radiation pushing it apart, and entire solar systems forming over millions of years. Every photon in this image traveled for over a millennium before hitting my sensor.

🔭 Gear used for this shot:
• Canon EOS 800D
• Askar SQA55 astrograph
• Sky-Watcher HEQ5 Pro mount
• ASIAIR Mini (no guiding)

This image is the result of about 4 hours of multiple long-exposure frames carefully tracked, stacked, and processed to bring out the faint details hidden in the nebula - all captured under our precious Lebanese skies.

This photo was captured at 4:00 AM, October 8th (last night) just as the Hunter Moon began to wane. The light had softened slightly, its edge less severe, but still bright enough to wash the early sky in silver. The lunar surface revealed a quiet, striking contrast between illuminated highlands and shadowed maria, a balance that only appears in this narrow post-full-moon window.

This is a single exposure, as raw as can be with no filters used, captured through one of the largest clouds to ever interrupt my astrophotography sessions.

Taken with my @sharpstaroptics Askar SQA55 and Canon EOS800D mounted on the mighty @sky_watcher_official HEQ5Pro and managed by my @zwoastro ASIAir Mini.
