Wanda is more than a character in Rise of the Mafu—she is the heart of the story.

She was our sister, co-author, and inspiration. Her rare gift for creating stories made people feel seen and valued. Wanda’s deep passion for connecting others and celebrating Afro-Caribbean culture shaped every part of this project.

Tragically, Wanda passed away at just 36, leaving Rise of the Mafu unfinished. Her loss was devastating, but her spirit drives us forward. We promised her we would complete these stories, and through this graphic novel, Wanda’s creativity and resilience live on—not only as inspiration but as one of the main characters in the narrative.

This project is our way of preserving her legacy, honoring the lessons of our heritage, and sharing untold African and Caribbean legends. Rise of the Mafu is more than a story; it’s a call to embrace your culture, explore your roots, and find strength in your voice.

Join us in bringing Wanda’s vision to life. Together, we make the difference.

Help us go even further by sharing this with your people and on your socials.

Er zijn onderwerpen waar we opvallend stil over blijven.

As we close the year, we’re looking back at moments that stayed with us — like our event It’s Not You, It’s Society.
Together, we explored dating, gender roles, and the pressure society puts on how we love and connect. Psychologist @stevenvreden reminds us:
“Always be your authentic self in dating, so you can make true connections with other people.”

Rise of the Mafu #1 is out in the world. Today. Right now.

What began as a story is now movement, sound and presence, passed from hand to hand. This reel captures that energy. Action, music and people carrying the book through Comic Con and beyond. The Mafu Universe is no longer just imagined. It’s lived.

From today, the story is available to everyone.
Want it physical? We ship worldwide, wherever you are.
Prefer digital? The full story lives on your screen, ready when you are.

This release is a milestone we celebrate with our community, the people who carried this story long before release day.

Curious where to begin?
Comment MAFU and step into the world.

The wait is officially OVER and we can finally say it out loud:
Rise of the Mafu #1 has arrived. Fresh from the printer. Unboxed. Real. In our hands at last, after living in our minds and on our screens for so long.

The first stack looks absolutely insane: deep blacks, textures and tones exactly how we envisioned them. But what hits even harder is the feeling behind it. After months of production, fine-tuning, approvals, setbacks and late-night decisions, holding this book makes every part of the journey worth it. Seeing this become reality truly hits different.

To all our Day Ones, First Backers and early supporters: this moment is yours too. You believed in this story before you could hold it. Thank you for carrying us here.

We are now in full packing and fulfillment mode, getting every copy ready to ship straight from us to you.

🚀 Release Date: December 15
Mark it. Bookmark it. Celebrate it. The Mafu enters the world on this day for all of us.

If you haven’t secured your copy yet:
👉🏾 Comment “MAFU” and we will send you the info on where to get your graphic novel.

Remember: ALL IS NOW
