MUSIC SPRINT #011 — THE FALSE RETURN

Leave it.
Miss it.
Bring it back changed.

How different can something be and still feel like a return?

AI gave me a 9.1/10.

Does AI know?

Strip it away.
Bring it back.

MUSIC SPRINT #009 — THE SUPPORTING CHARACTER

One melody leads.
One supports.

Can the second voice make the first one stronger without stealing the spotlight?

MUSIC SPRINT #008 — ONE NOTE, MANY MEANINGS

Same motif. Three different contexts.

How much can the meaning change when the notes barely do?

AI score: 7.8/10

ID10-T — 2/3

“And the world keeps sayin’ somethin’
To the monsters in my head
They’re making stealth agreements
While I’m crawling out of bed”

THE OLD ME — 2/2

Wrapping this one up.

The song is basically finished, and I’m ready to let it exist on its own.

Full song soon.

MUSIC SPRINT #008 — ONE NOTE, MANY MEANINGS

Better.

After phoning in the last sprint, I made more effort and focus on this one.

One melodic idea.
3 different emotional sections.
No more than a one-note change.
24 bars.

The goal: make the same idea feel different without constantly adding new material.

Better, but definitely room for improvement. Do you agree with the score?

MUSIC SPRINT #007 — HOOK BEFORE HARMONY

I kinda phoned this one in and the results show. 🤣

8 notes or fewer.
Repeat it at least 3 times.
Change one thing each time.
25 minutes.

The goal: create an instrumental hook strong enough to stand on its own. Not sure it landed like it should have. Oh, well and onward!

Do you agree with the score?

MUSIC SPRINT #006 — ONE VOICE CHANGES

The challenge: take one musical idea and make it evolve without replacing it.

16 bars.
4 tracks max.
Only one instrument can evolve.
A subtle change roughly every 4 bars.
25 minutes.

The goal was for the part at the end to still feel like the same idea I started with, just modified.

Here it is.

Here’s my score. Do you agree? Can you hear the evolution?

MUSIC SPRINT #005

This one was about creating movement without changing the foundation. The central goal of creating evolution and forward momentum without continually adding new parts.

16-bar loop
4 tracks max
One intentional change every 4 bars
No new chord progression after Bar 1
25 minutes

Here’s what I made.

Do you agree with the score?
