Listen up this could save you Lawsuits & Music Takesdowns not knowing the difference 🎤🎶

WHAT IS THE DIFFERNCE BETWEEN A SAMPLE & AN INTERPOLATION 🤔

Samples are direct usage of a recording, typically looped, manipulated, chopped, screwed, pitched up, etc, depending on what the artist or producer wants to do with it. Samples require clearing whenever used in a commercial track release.

Interpolations also require clearing. Interpolations are samples "replayed" therefore new instruments and sounds are used, but the underlying melodies and riffs can still be identified.

Recorded, commercial music involves several rights, i.e.: the rights to the performance of a song, rights to the recording of a song.

Artists who sample and interpolate would have to pay licenses depending on what they use in their songs. Many times, songs get dropped because the artist or label couldn't clear the sample (original artist wouldn't allow the sample to be used) or it would cost the artist too much to sample the song
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
WANT TO GET UR MUSIC CLEARED 👇👇👇👇
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This first route is the safest and the one guaranteed to keep you out of legal trouble.

In order to legally sample a recording you need to obtain permission to use the copyright for the Master Audio Recording itself (usually owned by a record label as well as the copyright for the songs a composition (usually owned by a publishing company, such as Glassnote).

Both of these entities have the right to grant you permission or to reject your request

CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY!!

This also matters for social, putting out music for anything you want to see success in even as an artist.

Consistency is the critical driver for success. Being consistent means dedicating yourself to your goals and staying focused on the things and activities to achieve your goals.

Consistency requires a long-term commitment from you and involves sustained effort in doing actions repeatedly until you achieve your goals.

If you want to be a better songwriter , WRITE MORE
If you want to be a better producer , PRODUCE MORE
If you want to be a better performer, PERFORM MORE
