The invitation is live.

For months, God has been stirring something in my heart: gather His people.

Not just to network. Not just to exchange business cards.

To get shoulder to shoulder.

To share God stories.
To lay down burdens.
To celebrate breakthroughs.
To pray together.
To learn from one another.
To point each other back to Scripture and Jesus.

That stirring now has a name: twelve.

twelve is a gathering of Christian business owners, contractors, consultants, and creators who believe we aren’t meant to do life, faith, or business alone.

And on September 14, we gather for the first time at Rock Point Coffee Co.

If this stirs something in you, pull up a seat. There’s room at the table.

Registration is live at the link in bio.

And if someone came to mind while watching this, send it to them. 🙏🏼 by @stevevencl

Obedience rarely makes sense from the outside.

There are moments in life where God asks us to take a step before He shows us the destination.

I’ve experienced that firsthand.

Not because I had all the answers.
Not because I wasn’t afraid.
But because I knew the One asking me to trust Him.

Obedience often requires surrender before it brings understanding.

If you’re wrestling with a decision today, don’t rush it.

Pray.

Fast.

Seek wise counsel.

Open His Word.

And when you’re confident He’s leading…

Take the step.

You may not know where the path ends, but you can trust the One who walks it with you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Men’s Prayer

Today there was a mighty move of God. An atmosphere shift that could have only been the Holy Spirit having His way in the room.

Prayers were answered. Burdens laid down. Healing happened. Fellowship & forging were the focus with Jesus at the center of it all.

If you feel like you need an atmosphere shift, a move of God or even a new lens to look at things through, you are invited to have all of this and finally feel seen. Come join us. Every Tuesday at 6am - at @echoes.church HQ.

What are you praying for today? Let me lift it up for you. by @stevevencl

Maybe you needed this prayer today.

A prayer of protection.
A reminder that you are covered.
That you are seen.
That you are heard.
That you are valued.
That you are loved.

And maybe while you were listening, someone came to mind.

Send it to them.

Let us pray. 🙏

We prayed for protection.

And the rock still hit.

I’ve thought a lot about that since we got home.

I don’t know why some things happen the way they do. I don’t think faith requires us to pretend that we do.

But I know what happened in the hours that followed.

We prayed.
We worshiped.
We surrendered.
We talked with God.

What could have been nearly three hours of frustration became nearly three hours in His presence.

And I keep coming back to this:

Maybe the interruption isn’t where God left you.

Maybe, right in the middle of the thing you didn’t expect and still don’t understand, there’s an invitation to draw near.

Sometimes faith doesn’t sound like having all the answers.

Sometimes it simply sounds like:

“God, I don’t know why this is happening, but I trust You.”

Draw near.

He is with you.

Corrie hadn’t told me.

Days before we left, she had experienced a vision of a rock hitting our windshield.

Then, on the drive home, it happened.

I don’t share this because I have an explanation for every detail. I share it because of what I keep coming back to:

He was with us.

In the unexpected.
In the uncertainty.
In the hours of prayer that followed.

His presence wasn’t dependent on everything going the way we had prayed it would.

His hand is always with us. He is always with us.

We prayed for protection.
And then the rock hit.

On the drive home with my family this weekend, a rock came off the road and smashed into our windshield.

What followed was nearly three hours of prayer, worship, surrender, and intimate conversation with God.

And somewhere along that drive, Corrie told me something she hadn’t shared with me before we left.

Days earlier, she had seen a rock hit our windshield in a vision.

I don’t have a perfect explanation for all of it.

But I know He was with us.

And maybe that’s the invitation in the things we don’t understand — not to have every answer, but to draw near.

To trust Him.

To be able to say:

“God, I don’t know why this is happening, but I trust You.”

This one is a little different. Just me, sharing a piece of our testimony.

A little different tomorrow.

For the first time on Built By Faith, I’m sitting down to share a piece of my own testimony.

Something happened this weekend that I’m still processing — and I felt the Lord put it on my heart to share it.

No polished lesson. No perfect explanation.

Just a story of prayer, surrender, His presence, and choosing to trust Him in something I didn’t understand.

Yesterday reminded me again how powerful it is to know that God is with us.

So today, I just want to pray for you.

For His presence.
For His protection.
For the full armor of God as you step into whatever He has called you to today.

And if someone came to mind while you were listening, send this to them.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” — Ephesians 6:11

Amen. 🙏 by @stevevencl

Today was a day.

Three hours from home, driving back from California, a rock about the size of a potato hit our windshield at 75 mph.

It broke through the glass a bit into the car.

After multiple attempts to get help through insurance and realizing we weren’t going to get the help we needed in that moment, we had a decision to make.

We prayed.

We prayed the blood of Jesus over our family, our car and everyone traveling around us. We put on the armor of God. We prayed for a hedge of protection.

And then we headed home.

For the next three hours, we worshiped.

We prayed.

And there was peace.

Not because the windshield suddenly wasn’t broken. Not because the drive wasn’t still in front of us.

But because His presence was with us in it.

Two Scriptures kept coming back to me:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

And:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness…” — Matthew 6:33

We made it home safely.

And shortly after getting home, I felt the Lord say:

Go run.

So I went.

I ended up running farther than I have in probably a year.

Then I sat in the sauna with praise and worship playing and just thanked Him.

Today didn’t go how I would’ve chosen.

But I’m ending it grateful.

Grateful for protection.
Grateful for peace that didn’t make sense given the circumstances.
Grateful for my family.
Grateful for obedience.
Grateful that when circumstances change in an instant, He doesn’t.

Today was a reminder:

Seek Him first.
Be strong and courageous.
And keep moving when He says move.

He was with us on the highway.
He was with me on the run.
He is here now.

All glory to God. by @stevevencl

“I still battle with them.”

There’s something powerful about a testimony that doesn’t pretend the story is finished.

Nick isn’t speaking from a place of having every struggle behind him. He’s speaking from inside the fight—with a growing understanding that the things he battles don’t have to own him.

Freedom doesn’t require pretending the battle isn’t there.

Bring it into the light.
Invite people into it.
Keep choosing Jesus.

You don’t have to hide the parts of your story God is still working through.

This is twelve.

Last week, 17 people representing 16 businesses pulled up a chair for our first gathering.

Men and women. Business owners, contractors, consultants and creators. Different industries. Different stories. Different seasons.

But one shared desire:

How do we keep God at the center of what we’re building?

We prayed.
We shared burdens.
We told God stories.
We learned from and encouraged one another.

And the Holy Spirit showed up.

This is what twelve is becoming — not another networking event, but an ecosystem of believers getting shoulder to shoulder.

A place to bring what God has given you.
A place to receive from what He has given others.
A place to learn together what it looks like to live out our faith in the places He has called us to work, lead and build.

17 people.
16 businesses.
One table getting bigger.

And we’re doing it again.
