Reflecting on my visit back home to Michigan. It’s crazy how driving into these driveways brings back a ton of memories from all the thanksgivings and Christmas’s we drove own that same driveway to the summer vacation drop offs where I’d spend half my summers growing up.

The moment that sticks out to me is a conversation I had with my cousin Kim and my sister in law Jess as we sat down by the pond. Even though we all may not live as close as we once did. Michigan and this place will always be Home.

What a fun evening on the water. Caught them a few different ways. By far the 🐸 bite was the funnest. Don’t over look using a frog this time of the year. Let’s you cover water pretty quick and helps you locate active feeding fish. I like to throw it over spawning areas they will absolutely crush it. Frog was a @_river2sea_ bully wa II they are great for open water and over grass. Big girl came on what I consider a sleeper bait for bed fish it’s a @poorboysbaits Erie Darter on a shaky head.

Doesn’t get more fun than tonight’s hunt.

Ol Sullee dog at the ripe spry young age of 9 years old reminded me why it’s been an honor to unsnap him. I haven’t hunted him more than a handful of times in the last 4-5 years and tonight he goes .61 miles and gets treed. He was treed 45 min - 1 hour. Yes he was gutted by the time I got there but he stayed out of shape and all.

I took along my young 7 month old female pup Cate. First time I’ve Carried her to the woods. She didn’t disappoint either she went every step with Sullee even opened on track multiple times along the way. Heard her locate a time or two with him and tree some. She stayed by the tree til i got there did she blow the top out no but for forst night in the woods ill take it. Excited to see what is in store for her. Cate is off ‘PR’DARK HOLLOW ROLLIN THUNDER X ‘PR’LITTLE RIVER TOOTSIE ROLL she goes back to my old Della female. by @stew337

Had my doubts walking into to her she was treed in straight pine trees. But nature has a funny way of showing you the answer. She drove this track super nice about 778 yards from where I cut her.

Walking in I noticed all these shrubs with berries on them. Explains why she trailed in here and why the 🦝 was in the pines eating in the berries.

Fun fact I didn’t know what type of berries they where or called after some research I found out they are American beauty berries also known as American mulberry. Interesting enough their leaves are a natural insect repellent for ticks and ants and mosquitoes. by @stew337

Where has the time gone so quickly, I can’t believe 18 years have went by this fast. Just seems like yesterday your mom I were bringing you home from the hospital as a little 6lbs 7 oz baby.

I’ve thought all day about what to say.
All I can say is it’s been a true blessing watching you grow into the young woman that you are and are still becoming. I know you will continue to grow as a person and continue to make me proud. Just keep doing what you are and working towards your goals and the sky is the limit for you.

No matter how old you get you will always be my lil girl.

Happy 18th Birthday Amriella

Love you

Dad
