Say hello to Brikt – the newest apprentice at STG!

Brikt first introduced himself by showing up at our office and asking us if we had a work placement for him. We loved the initiative – and we already love the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn that he has shown us since then!

He’ll spend the next two years developing his skills, gaining hands-on experience and joining us on all kinds of projects. Once he completes his apprenticeship, he’ll be a fully qualified media technician.

When we asked what made him choose STG, he said:

“I think pretty much everything about this industry is exciting – especially the kind of work STG does. I first heard about STG during a work placement in school, and it sounded like the perfect company for me. It’s full of the most skilled people I’ve ever met, with plenty of varied and exciting projects to be part of!”

You’ll be seeing Brikt out and about with us over the next two years, so make sure to say hello and give him a warm welcome when you meet him on a job!

We’re very happy to have you on the team, Brikt! 🙌 by @stgnorway

The people of STG

Say hello to the people who, by all means, are the heart, soul and systematic brain of this company:

Marius - Our CEO, electrical brain and master of regulations ⚡️ When he’s not working, you won’t find him, cause he’ll be somewhere far, far away 🏕️🎣.

Philip - our founder and head of company development, and without any doubts our master of chitchat 🚂 When he’s not working you’ll find him in the kitchen, or at the cabin cutting down massive trees 👨🏻‍🍳🪚

Øyvind (Brum) - our CFO and founder, and master brain with an eye for systems absolutely everywhere 🧠 We still haven’t found out what he’s doing when he’s not working, cause he’s never not working 🤷🏻💥

Maja - our self-appointed head of HR, and impatient PM 🌪️ When she’s not working you’ll find her out and about running, or doing stupid things as taking a swim in the ice cold sea 🏃🏻‍♀️🐳

Hårek - our sound alibi, and main man in the professional world of building a path for aspiring technicians 🎛️ When he’s not working he’s most likely at some delayed train thinking of refurbishing his house 💭🏠

Per Erik - our AV alibi and Vectorworks genius 📺 When he’s not working he’s trying to get to know his new hometown Oslo, and being an absolute hero always making time to help out his friends and colleagues 🦸🏻‍♂️🌟

Sigurd - our biggest smile and PSU in human form, working in both the world of lights and camera 🎥 When he’s not working he’s dreaming of off-piste skiing and downhill ⛷️🚲

We’ve had to say goodbye to our wonderful colleagues Yngve, Rikart and Sølve, who has left the STG-family for other cities and businesses the past year. Best of luck on your next adventures, and please come by for coffee and underberger anytime 💙 by @stgnorway

Week 40

Not every busy week comes with a camera roll to prove it. This week has been heavy on prep, service, testing and office work – so you’ll just have to trust us on this one.

Philip spent time at the shop helping Nils out, along with meetings and office work. He also joined Hårek and Brikt at NRK for maintenance on lighting fixtures and telescopic lifts. Ingrid has mostly been at the office, getting ready for an upcoming tour and working on a few other projects along the way.

Sigurd was back on The Voice with Hilux, while Per Erik worked with Tobias Sten on preparations for Oslo Spektrum and got the technical drawings in order for the upcoming Spektrum shows. He was also back at NRK for broadcast four of six of Alle mot 1 with the usual crew.

Brikt had a mix of projects this week, from helping out at the shop and working with Hårek at Voldsløkka to service at NRK and work on Highasakite’s set. Øyvind spent some time testing LED equipment at the shop between office days.

Marius has been preparing for both EMMa and Chris Holsten at Oslo Spektrum, as well as working with Tobias Sten. Nils has had his hands full at the shop and with another round of service at Lillestrøm Kultursenter. by @stgnorway

Week 39

After a packed festival season, we finally got the whole team together for a "kosedag". We do this twice a year to get everyone in the same place, hang out and have some fun together. This time we put our teamwork to the test in escape rooms, followed by homemade pizza.

Per Erik, Philip, Sigurd and Brikt spent a day at Prostage for a RoboSpot training session with Robe. Per Erik also finished up the sound installation at Liwlig House and was back on Alle mot 1 for the third broadcast of the season with Spectre, NRK, Hilux and Nordisk Banijay. We’re officially halfway through the season!

Øyvind worked with Spectre on Princess Astrid’s funeral, overseeing the technical preparations and working as system tech for rehearsals and the service. A big thank you to Spectre for trusting us with the job.

Marius has been prepping for both Chris Holsten and Emma at Oslo Spektrum, while also finding time for some warehouse improvements and board meetings.

Nils was busy with service at Lillestrøm Kultursenter and work at the shop, with Philip jumping in to help with some of the service work. Sigurd also handled a few equipment pickups and spent some time at the office together.

And as always, a few of us also spent some quality time at the office keeping up with everything behind the scenes. by @stgnorway

Week 38

Philip and Øyvind spent the week at NRK Tromsø, continuing the work we’ve previously done at NRK studios in Trondheim. They integrated LED behind the studio screens, installed lighting and helped the NRK team with various parts of the setup. There’s more to come from these projects, with Stavanger next on the list.

Sigurd worked on the Skal vi danse fit-up, alongside some time at the office, while Nils had another full week of service and workshop projects.

Per Erik had a varied week, starting with the strike of Fjøssystemer’s stand at Dyrsku’n with NPRO. He also worked on a sound installation at Liwlig House, got last year’s LED setup for Skal vi danse back up and running for the first broadcast, and returned for the second broadcast of Alle mot 1 with Spectre, NRK and Nordisk Banijay.

Hårek and Brikt worked together on an LED installation for Avility, before moving on to infrastructure upgrades at Liwlig with Per Erik.

Meanwhile, Marius traded work for a few days in the mountains, while Ingrid opted for slightly warmer surroundings on vacation in Spain. by @stgnorway

Week 37

From TV studios to Oslo Cathedral, this week has kept the team busy across a pretty wide range of projects.

Five of us were part of the lighting fit-up for Spellemann with Spectre, with Point taking care of the rigging.

Øyvind, Philip and Brikt were also back at Oslo Cathedral with Spectre for the King’s funeral, covering everything from the fit-up and the service itself to the strike the following day. Sigurd was there as well, working with NRK during the funeral.

Alle mot 1 moved from prep to its first broadcast this week. Per Erik worked on the fit-up with Spectre, Hilux, NRK and Nordisk Banijay, while Brikt and Marius spent time troubleshooting and fine-tuning the LED setup.

Per Erik also joined NPRO for Fjøssystemer’s stand at Dyrsku’n and handled the LED fit-up for Skal vi danse with Spectre.

Brikt, Philip and Marius took care of some LED tape work at Brageteateret, while Hårek handled LED tape at Wallmans alongside some workshop time and FSE work from home. Nils, as usual, had his hands full in the workshop.

And while all of this was going on, Ingrid traded the Norwegian September weather for a vacation somewhere considerably warmer☀️🌴

A lot of this week’s work is still under wraps – so for now, you’ll just have to take our word for it. The photos will come eventually👀

Week 34

This week took us from Bodø to Jakarta – with quite a few unexpected hours on the road in between!

The biggest trip of the week goes to Øyvind, who travelled all the way to Jakarta with Astrid S for LaLaLa Festival. A great production, great people – and luckily enough time for a Friday off exploring by boat, visiting an island and enjoying some proper street food.

Back in Norway, Ingrid had three shows with Golf, starting at Hjertebank in Bodø, followed by Ypsilon in Drammen and Jugendfest in Ålesund.

Philip joined Highasakite for Pstereo and Jugendfest, alongside a week of meetings and office work. Per Erik got to work with NPRO on Fjøssystemer’s stand at the Agrisjå agricultural fair. He also managed to stop by Pstereo to catch Philip and Highasakite.

Nils and Hårek spent two days on the annual maintenance round at Asker Kulturhus, with Nils also keeping busy in the workshop.

Sigurd joined Hilux for the Amanda Awards, while also deprepping the Chris Holsten production. Marius went to Bergen for the Feelings Festival with Bausa, prepared for Emma at Oslo Spektrum and set up temporary power distribution for an event with CT.

And with the flight strike affecting quite a few of us this week, some planned flights turned into considerably longer drives than expected. At least we got to see a little more of Norway along the way. by @stgnorway

Week 33

Back-to-school season looks a little different from our perspective. This week, several of us have been travelling around Norway for fadderuke shows and student events.

Ingrid had three shows with Golf, making stops in Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen, while Per Erik joined Bausa for fadderuke events at OsloMet and in Kristiansand. Marius also headed to Bergen with Bausa after spending some time prepping both Bausa and upcoming Chris Holsten shows.

Meanwhile, Sigurd spent the entire week at Øyafestivalen as part of the system crew.

Philip and Øyvind headed to NRK Trondheim, where they installed LED behind the studio screens – the latest step in a project we've been working on for a while. They also stepped in with the Chris Holsten crew for the Jessheim show.

Back at the workshop, Nils has had plenty to keep him busy, while Marius also squeezed in some service work between the week's shows and preparations.

Week 32

This week, most of the team has been at NRK, giving their lighting inventory its regular round of service and maintenance. With more than 200 moving lights of different types and brands, there’s plenty to keep us busy.

This is something we’ve been doing for NRK for several years, and the results really show. Regular cleaning and maintenance help the fixtures stay reliable and perform at their best for much longer. Filters and lenses are cleaned or replaced, cables and connectors are checked and repaired, and smaller issues are caught before they turn into bigger problems – saving both time and frustration when the equipment is out on a job.

The work also includes NRK’s conventional fixtures. They may spend more time standing still, but they still need some love every now and then. Cleaning lenses, removing dust and checking cables, plugs and other components all help maintain the quality and extend the lifetime of the equipment.

Per Erik and Sigurd have also been working together on a project at Sentralen, while Per Erik headed to Haugesund with Ina Wroldsen for Sildajazz.

Marius has been working on LED tape for Spectre before heading to Wrightegaarden with Bausa.

Ingrid has been deprepping Julie Bergan’s summer production after the final show of the season, while also getting a solid amount of advancing done for the final weeks of festival summer with Golf. by @stgnorway
