the ballet shoe that left the stage.

repetto started in 1947, when rose repetto opened a tiny workshop steps from the paris opera on the advice of her son, choreographer roland petit. a few years later brigitte bardot walked in wanting a shoe as light as a dancer’s but more feminine, and rose stitched one inside out like a dance shoe. that became the cendrillon flat.

the zizi oxford came next, made for the dancer zizi jeanmaire, and by the 70s serge gainsbourg wouldn’t wear anything else. the white zizi is in repetto’s latest campaigns, on men and women.

same workshop, a whole new stage.

it’s that time of year again

one cold morning and every city looks the same again. long dark coats on the platform, collars up on the crosswalk, somebody’s dad in the same overcoat he’s had since the 90s. carolyn bessette-kennedy made a black coat and an alice band the whole outfit. diana was doing oversized before it had a name. nobody was trying to go viral. they were just cold and had taste.

the formula never changed. get a coat that swallows you a little and let it carry the whole fit.

Rest in peace Virgil

It’s been a few years since his passing but his impact lives on. Influencing streetwear, high fashion, your favorite musicians. He died a designer, a DJ, a philosopher, a friend to many and an inspiration to all.

Virgil had a belief that everyone is born an artist and lose it as they age and the world puts them in a box. But he believed that tapping back in with that inner child is what will you bring you closer to your inner artist.

Don’t put yourself in a box. Don’t forget who you were. Do make something with the ideas you have. by @stiled.app

Stiled Phase 1 is coming to an end. It’s been a dope process. A lot of learning, failing, late nights and early mornings. Never give up on your dreams. Take it to the moon. Then some.

the going-out top used to make the outfit. now let the skirts do it.

prada put one in all 63 looks this season. miu miu did checked kilts, loewe went draped, and dior went organza.

the same assignment, with four completely different answers. giving you one for every mood.

so, which skirt are you wearing first?

Young Ronaldo loved wearing his belt out.

Defined by his glossy dress shirts, low rise jeans, and v necks, Christiano Ronaldo shamelessly killed it during his rise to stardom.

Ronaldo’s fashion consisted of clothes that sat tight and showed off his muscular physique. And though at the time criticized for being too metrosexual (too concerned with his looks), Ronaldo knew the importance of looking your best on and off the field. Influencing young men around the world to take more care of their appearance in a society full of men who deem it unnecessary and unproductive.

Successfully mixing preppy and high fashion luxury, along with his technical choices made to accentuate his body, Ronaldo was a stand out character during Y2K fashion and plenty of men have him to thank for the influence that lasted.

And it should be noted Ronaldo and the rest of his teams did have designers to help with all of this. Though it was his willingness and bigger picture mentality that allowed him to successfully do it.

Mickey Drexler is a well known creative, businessman and retail executive. Notably serving as the Gap CEO from 1993-2002, scaling the business from $400 million to $14 billion in sales by the time he left. And at the same time he founded Old Navy, Gap Kids, and became corporate director at Apple alongside Steve Jobs to create the first ever Apple Store.

Today, Mickey works with his son on their own fashion brand named Alex Mill.

Mickey has strong beliefs regarding creativity, business, and consumer behavior. He writes down these quotes he finds or comes up with himself and puts them in a book to inspire viewers of his Instagram page. The most fascinating thing is no one knows what this book is. It’s unsure if it exists, is being released soon, or just a personal compilation of things he likes that were never meant to be sold.

Either way, Mickey is an amazing influence with accolades to be admired. Keep inspiring and keep creating by @stiled.app

rachel ojuromi is a 22 year old model from lagos, nigeria. she and her best friend debby fasingha, a stylist and designer, recreated chanel’s metiers d’art looks from second-hand clothes and filmed them around the city. the video went up in july and passed 2 million views. matthieu blazy commented “everything” with a red heart, and an invite to paris followed.

on october 5 she made her runway debut at the chanel spring/summer 2027 show at the grand palais, in look 73: a gray and yellow tweed shirt and midi skirt. yellow is debby’s favorite color. when her team called with the news, her first reaction was “oh, of course.” the crying came later, at the first lineup.

she says it was never overnight, it was a series of compounding events, and she didn’t let a lack of money stop the idea. her message: you can dream yourself into a life that is possible even if nobody else gets it.

what’s the one idea you’ve been sitting on that you could start with what you already have?
