I’m mostly bedbound now so I never get dressed— it takes too much from me, so I’m just in pajamas all the time. I was just discovering my style when I got super sick, so I’ve had to explore through Pinterest since then!

I have severe Myalgic Encephalomeyelitis and I can’t tolerate sunlight. I’m in a dark room 95% of the time (I’m slowly tolerating a little more light!). I used to love sunshine and having as much daylight in my room as possible so this has been super hard. I used to be the most active, ambitious, hard working person, and now that I’m an ambitious people chained to bed with a severe energy limiting condition (my body can’t produce energy correctly), it’s really hard to know life is passing by without me being part of it.

Fragrance is my biggest coping mechanism and has been for the past year.
I’m so thankful for folks who have done sample trades with me (or just flat out sent me samples and stuff?? Yall are so sweet), it has allowed me to explore scent and grow my sample collection and figure out what I like. I’m still figuring that out but I’ve made great progress the past year. A year ago I only had a dozen samples I rotated through! Now I have about a hundred 🩵 and I have so many I’m swapping so check my swapping posts for examples if you wanna do a swap! There’s so many perfumes I want to smell still. by @stillmasking

Indira and the kids survived the earthquakes in Venezuela when many families did not.
They are terrified. There are aftershocks. They are on the streets to avoid building collapses that have already trapped so many.

They are hungry. Santiago is having severe hyperglycemia from longterm starvation, and doctors have told Indira that he HAS to eat lots of nutritious food every day to survive this. The family can only afford one meal a day.

Indira’s health continues to worsen. She has vertigo, tinnitus, and full body weakness that sometimes means she can’t even sit up.

The twins are only 10 years old. Imagine how scared they are.

All this while homeless, while enduring lack of electricity, intense heat, and massive inflation that makes basic necessities unattaiably expensive.

So even if you can’t give, you can be a human bullhorn for this family. Post about them. Tell their story. Urge your friends to do the same. Talk to folks, churches, and orgs that might help. Bring them up at gatherings, organize at events to pass their flyer around.

We are their lifeline.

My friend Indira and her kids are barely surviving in the hot weather of Venezuela, with no electricity most of the time, and often only one sparse meal a day. Her 13 year old son Santiago, who loves sports and wants to become an architect to build his mother a safe home, is sick. He has fallen and hit his head, he is weak and cannot eat, and they have spent days trying to find a doctor who will help him. There is no free healthcare there. It’s up to us to keep this boy and his family alive after what has been done to them.

Please circulate this flyer and urge people to contribute to this family’s survival fund, without us they will not make it. by @stillmasking

The grief of disability and all I’ve lost is consuming me. I am so full of life, of ambition, color, and dreams, and I was cut down before I could see it through.
