I don’t understand why bananas don’t come in different flavours.

A few years ago I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. A few operations, a stoma, a reversal and rather more hospitals than I’d have liked later, I’m still here.

So this October I’m walking 60 miles for Bowel Cancer UK.

Is it ok to wear white socks with sandals ?

I’m walking 60 miles in October for Bowel Cancer UK.

I had bowel cancer. I’m still here. So I’m raising a few quid for a charity that means a lot to me.

One of my favorite Christmas desserts, dates stuffed with walnuts but never with cashew nuts. Always simple, always delicious.

I’m walking 60 miles in October for Bowel Cancer UK.

The King’s swans have been hanging around the garden, so I sketched one.

Not sure if I need permission from the Palace.

#FeatureFriday

This week we’re featuring @stinkifinky and his stunning MV Agusta Superveloce 800.

For him it’s about more than just the machine, it's a story of resilience! Oliver suffered from bowel cancer but never let that hold him back. He had an ileostomy for 12 months and didn't let that stop him from travelling around the UK with the stoma and a hernia. His adventures round Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the Lake District got him through this challenging time. But after 18 months ago he overcame it and Oliver is now all clear and back enjoying every mile without his extra passenger!

He wanted to bravely share his story to bring awareness and as a powerful reminder to stay aware and look after your health. His future involves bringing awareness and doing charity related things to help others. First up for him his the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on 17th May, if you want to support his ride you can do so here: https://gentlemansride.com/fundraiser/stinki-finki

It’s World Cancer Day.

I got cancer 18 months ago.
I survived it.
A lot of people don’t.

It changes how you look at time.
What matters.
What doesn’t.

You’re never alone.
You might think it.
You’re not.

So enjoy your life while you have it.
Do the things that clear your head.
Ride your bike. Walk. Sit still. Whatever does it for you.

And if something feels off, don’t ignore it.
Get yourself checked.

I’m happier now.
For reasons that matter.

Washing is entirely unnecessary .
After a while , the accumulated dirt on your body will simply crack off and come away in small chunks.
