Meet the team.

Anton, Louie, and me — the slightly chaotic trio behind Stitch & Spaniel.

If you’re new here, welcome. I’m Julia and this is where it starts.

Stitch & Spaniel started with a fairly simple idea: dog-inspired knitwear I would actually want to wear.

Now I’m building our first collection, figuring things out as I go, and sharing rather more of the process than I originally intended.

There’ll be beautiful knitwear, samples that don’t quite work, decisions I’ll probably overthink, Anton + Louie, and plenty of life with dogs in between.

If that sounds like your sort of thing, stay awhile.

Plenty of Jersey’s small businesses were up to something this Saturday morning, so we went to see a few.

@stitchandspaniel gave us a first look at their dog-inspired knitwear at @lockes_stories (launching in March, but the email list is open now).

After a third coffee from @batwjersey and a brief Wes Anderson moment, we headed to @almasanaliving x @willowhomefragrance for the shop’s first birthday and the launch of @jerseyshroomco - Jersey-grown lion’s mane.

We finished at @reformher.je, where @bloom.courses marked a year of helping new mums build their village, with cupcakes from @petitgateaujersey.

Tomorrow is a big day for Stitch & Spaniel.

Our very first First Look when only a few months ago, this was just an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.

As expected (thanks cup half empty brain), not everything has gone to plan. Some samples are still somewhere in Asia and I’m learning that starting a business involves a remarkable amount of waiting for things, something that I am too impatient to do.

If you’re in Jersey, we’re at @lockes_stories in St Helier from 9–10.30am. Come for a coffee, have a look at the knitwear and bring your dog.

And if you’ve been following along from elsewhere, thank you. It means a great deal to have people interested in something I’m building from scratch.

I started Stitch & Spaniel on maternity leave because I couldn’t find the kind of dog-inspired clothing I actually wanted to wear.

No cartoon prints. No novelty slogans. Just beautiful knitwear, natural fibres and the dogs we love, worked quietly into the details.

Dog-inspired. Never dog-themed.

Since then, it’s been samples, mistakes, manufacturers, late-night decisions and slowly watching an idea become a real collection.
